Bring Back Legacy Team Icons

I'm a player who is very passionate when it comes to the LoL Esports scene, and as such I like to try and collect all of the summoner icons for my favorite team. However, for some players (me included) it's not always possible to get every single one when it's available. Maybe you didn't have a job or couldn't spare money on micro transactions. Maybe you were taking an extended break from the game. Or maybe you just hadn't started playing yet.

So I was just curious about what other players would think about the concept of Riot bringing back legacy team icons. I know some people might argue that there is supposed to be a feeling of being proud for having something that not many people have, and I understand that completely, but it could be beneficial.

As a lot of us know, Riot has been trying to explore ways for teams to make additional revenue for teams and players which previously had kinda been limited to the icons. So my thinking is if you bring back old team icons and allow a portion of sales go to the corresponding team, it should be a win-win. Team get a bit more money, and players get to have the satisfaction of completing their collection. And even if the icon is for a team that no longer competes, it's still a nice way of remembering where some of your favorite players started from.

So what do you guys think? Is this a decent idea that Riot should explore in the future or is this just wishful thinking?
