Tick Tock, Time running out for Echo Fox

Things could get very weird for LCS very fast. The deadline Riot gave them to eject Raizada as a minority owner was extended to Monday. They've had a little over two months and have about 24 hours to get rid of him or face their license possibly being pulled and the team removed from the LCS.

My thoughts...

Riot messed up BAD. It's not necessarily simple to push out an owner, and they gave Echo Fox a deadline and the nuclear punishment threat. Riot has overstepped badly and may have to dump a team mid season, OR walk back their punishment and look weak and stupid.
I will maintain that it's absurd Riot got involved in a team matter in the first place. If it was between owners of opposing teams sure, but this should have stayed Echo Fox's mess only.
I don't feel any pity for Rick Fox. Ok, this Raizada guy said mean things. I'm sure you heard the same when playing in the NBA. I don't buy into the idea at all he is passionate about the game, or he wouldn't have been so willing to ditch the team with his name on it. Finally, the nail that drove me to this pessimistic view of him, was him expressing disappointment that mean words aren't a crime. Free Speech in America buddy, go back to Canada if you can't take some heat.
I feel awful for the Fox roster. It must be stressful seeing these suits so eager to use your livelihood as pawns in a powerplay. I hope a buyer can step right in and keep them playing for the season, and if their team isn't tossed that they can escape the Echo Fox organization ASAP.

One of the minority owners of Echo Fox made racist remarks in a company email.

That said, Theyre not entirely up an S creek without a paddle. First off, Echo Fox will finish up the current split regardless of finding an owner. Their slot will be sold to another team only after this split. Secondly, if theyre estimated a $30mil team they still can sell the spot for a hefty sum, more than they'll ever get from winnings especially as a low tier NA team

I haven't seen any breakdowns of what may happen if EF doesn't meet Riot's deadline. I would hope at the very least the players get to finish out the season and get paid. I'm curious about the particulars of what will happen if EF has their license revoked. Do they forfeit all rights and will get some compensation pay after Riot accepts a new buyer, like other organizations were when rejected in franchising? Will EF still have the right to sell their LCS organization to another organization who can slide in? I haven't seen any article with details about this possible scenario. They may have a paddle, they may not, but pretty soon if they can't finalize something they will be up S creek.

Deadline passed so I wonder what happened now. I know players have contracts, but im not sure if those are overseen by Riot or by the franchise owners. Hope everyone on EF is doing okay; this incident is none of their faults and they dont deserve to lose their jobs over someone else being a prick.

I did find an article that stated EF would play through the rest of the split THEN Riot would sell their spot to a new organization, and EF would get a % as compensation.

Just can't find any news yet about if Riot is canning them or EF made an ownership sale.

Started when someone leaked an Echo Fox memo from Rick Fox stating his intent to sell his shares and walk away due to harassment and racism of a minority owner. (Raizada, a guy who made millions in India, moved to US, has been a venture capitalist and sued a couple times already for harassment)

After the leak, emails were released showing some very racist harassment of Fox as well as another black member of the EF organization. Claims were also made of threats from Raizada but I'm not sure those have been proven.

Riot stepped in basically giving Echo Fox a 60 day deadline to get rid of Raizada or face their license being pulled.
