Pro View Feedback

Being a contributor to the pro view experience, I'd like to share my Day 1 feedback with Riot, and maybe anyone that is still skeptical about purchasing it. (I purchased the Global Version)

Pros:

  • You are able to view your favorite player/favorite role.
  • Multiple stream viewing.
  • (Personally) More engaging on a learning basis (Role, Build, etc.)

Cons:

  • Player Camera blocks chat (Not sure if intentional)
  • No game comms from player (Thought this would be apart of the package, maybe not)
  • No hovering labels over stat icons.

Suggestions:

  • If possible, could you please add somewhere in the settings to toggle the player camera on or off? Same idea for the comms.
  • Make a scroll selection box for the quality, it takes up some space on the screen.

Bugs:

  • I cannot remember what vod or stream I was viewing, but there was no selection to compare support stats, and the red side bot lane was labeled as Kayle Bot.
  • I'm currently watching the CG vs. OPT match at the time of posting this, and when I'm clicking on items (I haven't swapped who I'm viewing, nor refreshed vod), runes, or ability leveling, they aren't loading in and only giving me a loading circle.
  • Fullscreen view does not hide your taskbar. (Unsure if maybe just my computer.)

Conclusion: For $14.99 (USD) to view on LCS and MSI, and $19.99 (USD) to view Globally and MSI, I'd have to say it's a yes and no on the price given in current state of Pro View. While it is very cool to have the ability to view a certain players game, there are still a few features lacking to give the full experience of really viewing the game from a players perspective.

I would definitely buy the pro view if the implement the experience similar to Dota 2. Me being able to see the game as if were in the client, being able to move the camera, hover over items or players to see stats. I sometimes like to follow a player but it is easier just to drag the camera to the other side of the map and then come back to the player I'm following instead of changing views.

I'm from EU but mostly watch LCS, so my typical LCS weekend is to watch a couple games live, then watch the vods for the rest the next day. I'll either watch highlights of games I'm not so interested in or watch the full games at 2x speed. Pro View doesn't give me what I want yet. Gonna look to see if I can get a refund because based on first usage it's not what I want right now. It needs a few extra features for me to feel like it's worth paying for. Wish there was a trial because I realized after 2 minutes I didn't like it.

It needs better multi-monitor support. On single 27" screen any more than a single stream makes everything way too small. League is so zoomed out anyway that watching these small streams is near impossible for me. I'll try on my 60" TV and it will probably be better, but I mostly watch LCS from my PC.

I want be able to pop out individual streams and move them around and resize to get the set up I want. Without needing to try to sync multiple instances of the web page.

For vods I would really like up to 2x playback speed and ability to just watch highlights if I want, like r/LoLeventVoDs

Event timeline that shows kills for each side on the bar is a no no too for vods. Turn that off unless I explicity ask for it. Spoils everything!

I would buy pro view if it were cheaper say $5, but i just don't see myself using it enough to justify the price.

i think the price is pretty fair tbh. however there are two necessary fixes i would like to suggest. mostly about the default settings.

-please change the default to show only one screen instead of 3 . whenever i open pro view it just horribly laggs until i can change the quality. The default quality ->Auto just doesnt work at all (pls fix?!) . it doesnt correctly recognizes my connection speed (about 15Mbps) or maybe it it just ignores the fact that it is possibly more then just one stream simultaneously (like 3 on default). -Secondly : the game action timeline. on VODs please dont set the default to show in-game action like kills and objectives. this is a huge spoiler sice it is often very obvious from that who won the game.

and please make it available to watch streams on seperate monitors.(pls riot pls)

its great, i will say that i am not a fan that it auto resets to show spoilers every single time you open it (i always shut it off right away) but the 1st game i open is always spoiled for me and i feel like its not worth watching after that. if that can be fixed its overall very worth, even just to support lol esports
