I mean, if that's the goal... it's kind of working, isn't it? We'll see how this week goes.

They beat Fox (1-5)
They beat 100t (1-5)
They beat FQ (1-5)
They beat c9 (4-2)
They lost to Clutch (3-3)
They lost to CLG ( 4-2)
They're 3-0 against the two worst teams in the league and one more that is doing just as badly.
They're 1-2 against the mediocre or better teams.
They have LQ and TSM this week. Will they catch them looking forward to rift rivals? Or will they go the same way Optic did last week going 0-2 and coming back to earth? Should be interesting.
Update. They went 0-2. Liquid played badly and still beat them and they threw one against TSM.
So that's 1-4 against the better teams. Not ready for prime time yet . But I would think making playoffs would be a nice goal for them.
