Two Big Reasons MSI Doesn't Matter

Patch 6.9 removed sated devo as well as boot enchantments.

No pro game moving forward from patch 6.9 will have access to those items, therefore, MSI (or more specifically) MSI being played on patch 6.8 invalidates the entire thing.

Aside from entertainment value of viewing I suppose.

also doesn't have the new dragons and rift herald buff. I imagine, those will be a major game changers in pro play.

MSI still matters. Also, sated devourer removal isn't a big deal regarding the pro scene. The other jungle changes are huge though. Along with the mage item changes and mage reworks. But MSI is still relevant as hell.

Literally one jungler in pro play builds devourer (Kindred). Granted you have pocket picks every once in a while but you'll see pocket picks with blood Rader (likely a similar champion pool anyway). Look at MSI as a culmination of everything up to patch 6.8 and MSI is a reward for perfecting the first half of season 6

Thats like saying every competitive game of league that has been played on a previous patch to whatever is live is irreverent.

Just because the meta is going to change doesn't mean that nothing that happens now matters, lol. It's still a test of skill. You could make an argument that the current champ selects won't be relevant for the summer split, but other than that...
