I mean did you really expect Riot to give out over $120 USD in free skins to people with perfect picks unless it was statistically next to impossible for almost everyone except a handful of people?

Which is why the reward is so large. Every worlds, we're introduced to expectation defying performances such as this.

Riot can take that bet, because it's not statistically impossible, but because worlds always throws curve balls at us.

$120 is large??? To a normal person yes. But the skins are already developed. Riot is taking a very small hit to give people a "chance" at it.

I would be happier if Riot just gave top16 like Championship Ashe or something (although tied points is an issue). Look at other drafts, with $1billion prize pools, Riot is very stingy with the prize for this.

Should be an even larger reward, like all of the esports related skins being given to the perfect pick to hit a larger champ pool and since it's all related to worlds

$120 is sooooo tiny, when you consider the numbers.

Championship Ashe skin brought in OVER 7,000,000 dollars. Sure take out development time, etc. Take out the prize pool. Still brought in over 3,000,000 EASILY. 120/3mill = 0.00004% hit. Oh my gosh Riot is so generous. We are going to bankrupt the company. Oh noes.

I am not even asking for a bigger first prize. That is ridiculous because first prize/PERFECT picks is nearly impossible. I am simply saying give the top16 something like a Championship Ashe, or maybe one skin from the winning team this year. Seriously millions of people get a Victorious Graves skin this year, but Pick'Ems.... gets an icon?

Hey, better than me - even with guessing Samsung correctly. I found out about it too late, since I only just started following the competitive LoL scene in any fashion recently. I didn't even know that Pick'em was a thing until after groups started, so... I have 5 points, cause I started late : D

It isn't an impossibility so far. I got 3 of 4 group stages correct (only missed GAM/IMT). And I got SSG over LZ correct.

This other guy might have just used his brain. Yes it was a longshot upset for LZ to lose, but every other pick has been easy to read (except GAM!!)

We'll see that next, huh? I expect they'll win, but I still hope for another big upset. I really like underdog stories, and that would be the biggest you are going to get, even if Misfits then lose to whoever wins between RNG and Fnatic. SKT losing in quarter finals would blow expectations out of the water, and open up for almost any team to make it.

Again, I expect SKT will win, but it is fun to imagine the possibilities. : D

Oh for sure. I really wanted to put MSF and C9 with better chances. But it is just too unlikely for MSF. SKT will pick on any weakness you show. MSF play well, but they have holes in every game.

Koma said that they have a lot of work from the weaknesses they found in groups before the games today. Huni said after that they have a lot of things to work on AND that misfits are better then they are at certain parts of the game.

My only miss is GAM/IMT tiebreak :(. Riot should give top16 predictions a smaller prize like Championship Ashe or something. I mean getting all the picks right is impossible, but the top picks should get something.

I don't understand why you think it was stupid of people to believe in Longzhu Gaming. Longzhu won LCK and they crushed their group. Samsung Galaxy did well too but not as well as Longzhu in either LCK or Groups.

The coaches and players have all changed from 2014 for the SamSung organiztion. Even the name of the team is different now (previously SamSung White). Your point does not matter at all. Neither SSG nor LZ have ever won worlds.

Anyone who chose the untested, unrefined LZ squad over the tried and tested Samsung squad is mad. SS has been to more worlds than almost any other team with the exceptions of SKT or Fnatic. Sure they weren't as good as LZ during the season but hell, the season stats don't matter at worlds.
