Not So Stock Impact B & the climb to Challenger
The Not So Stock Story
Not So Stock Gaming has been working on putting a team together (or working more closely with a community team) since day one, but there have always been logistical issues. Back in January we finally found a team interested in working with us, and who had reasonable expectations from a sponsor/manager; this was the beginning of Not So Stock Impact, when DJ Hellbane (AKA C3ree or Coach Hellbane) agreed to have Irreversible Impact play under the NSSG brand!
Irreversible Impact
Irreversible Impact was a team that participated regularly in Not So Stock Gaming’s weekly League of Legends tournaments as well as other community tournaments. As a team they had progressed into the Diamond tier and were capable of defeating some of our master/challenger level teams for the occasional first place finish! Not So Stock Gaming Worked with Irreversible Impact until the disbanded.
Not So Stock Impact B
We’re not quitters! After Irreversible Impact disbanded it took us a while to get things back together, but we now have c3ree in charge of coaching and team management and have put another team back together: NSSG Impact B! It’s been an interesting journey from team try-outs, through the first ranked team games, and right into the ranked grind (currently at Platinum I and climbing) with multiple roster changes as we get things stabilized.
Our plans for the team
They’ve been working together for about a month now, and though there is a lot of learning and growing that needs to be done, have been performing very well. We’re going to continue to climb the team ranked queue while maintaining a rigorous practice and tournament schedule; to date Not So Stock Impact B has been averaging 6 days of play including two tournaments per week.
This Saturday we’ll be entering them into the ggCircuit $10,000 Online Qualifier tournament and (for the first time) streaming their play on the main NSSG twitch channel; winning will mean a trip to Indianapolis for their first live event, but we’re entering this one mostly for fun and to see how we really stack up against the competition right now.
We will also be entering the monthly MobaFire NA Cup Tournaments and looking for other events to play.
