As a tournament organizer I'm appalled and saddened for our community.

Anyone else had enough?

to me It's OKAY that their server sucks sometimes, it's OKAY that they ignore the outcries of the community on balance issues most of the time, but they've gone too far this time...

Riot recently changed it'd prizing system, and didn't inform tournament organizers about one of the key changes (and removed the FAQ page from their website at the same time!) which (from my organization alone) has prevented summoners who earned their rewards from receiving upwards of 400,000 Riot Points in the last two weeks, and now I'm told it will be up to a month before anything is corrected!

That's 200 summoners blaming -me- for them not getting their prizing, while I'm stuck here tossing emails at Riot for over a week before they come up with an "Oops.. by the way" response.

P.S.

Riot, have you ever considered live chat, or phone support?

P.P.S.

Someone asked which tournaments these are; for the sake of continued honesty, transparency, and the best support we can provide YOU with our team -- despite the negative connotations of this thread, which I will say is not a norm for us -- we are happy to provide this information...

I am Darkorpse, the founder and head administrator at Not So Stock Gaming (www.notsostock.ca)

P.P.P.S

Prizing has finally started to go out; some events seem they will take longer than others and we're working with Riot to make things happen as quickly as possible

not to mention we had to log in twice at the start of this patch right? they only fixed it after for like 3 to 4 days. I had to celebrate with my league friends when they finally fixed that LMFAO

_Posting on behalf of Cinder from the Community Events Team _

Hey darkorpse,

Since your post we’ve connected with you through the support system about your organization’s prizing issues, but I wanted to drop in here to address a couple of the concerns expressed by you and others in the thread.

Ultimately, the Community Events changes are intended to facilitate better communication between tournament organizers, tournament players, and Riot. I certainly don’t need to tell you that the old process was much more complicated during the application process alone. We still have some things to finalize with the new process, but it’s important to note that the site is currently in beta, so things like the updated FAQ and other additional functionality are yet to come in future updates.

Requiring tournament players to register on the Community Events website already offers a couple advantages though, especially when it comes to accurate and consistent prizing. Under the old system, organizers had to record everyone’s summoner names and submit them along with results. Typos were constantly a problem and a frequent source of Player Support tickets about players not receiving awards for no apparent reason. Once the site is fully online and participants get used to the system, we’re confident that prizing out an event will be quicker, more accurate, and hopefully less stressful.

We’re also working with individual organizers to acclimate their communities to the player registration requirement, and while players adjust we’re offering manual prizing as a fallback when players fail to register as temporary solution. Manual prizing certainly doesn’t take 5 minutes in these cases, as each tournament has to go through a manual vetting process. Currently, it can take up to 2 weeks due to the number of requests being submitted. By comparison, prizing will take at most 3 business days when organizers make sure all their players have properly registered..

As always, any organizer is more than welcome to reach out to us at [email protected]. We’re excited to continue improving Community Events support and appreciate you guys providing feedback and participating in the program!

Ha, classic. They do the same when they handle nerfs, they just do shit and roll them out, without bothering to convey the reasoning behind such impactfull decisions.

Rito give a comment here to know this fellow is not ignored!

This is really crappy... but if you compare the support Riot has to their largest competitor... you'd be amazed at how good it is. Valve hires no customer support staff at all... so if you submit a request fors upport for ANYTHING that can't be solved by the community, you're stuck waiting until a member of the development team has time to address your concern(and it isn't mandatory that they do so).

Again, not saying it's good... and thank you very much for bringing this mishap to light - as these things get shoved under the rug too often - but don't be too harsh on them. It's bad, but trust me... it could be way worse.

This news is really sad as I am one of the shoutcasters for NSSG/Darkorpse, this will greatly affect us and other sites on prizing our fellow summoners and delay our progress tremendously!

Yeah i ran into the same issue. Its like the only people they noticed were VG and everyone else kind of got shafted. I run small tournaments for my ts3, usually around 12 teams. Our prizing got cut to 10% of what it used to be, and that was our main incentive to get new people to show. Riot absolutely shafted the little guys on this one. Not to mention the way you HAVE to use the events hub to register and prize.

RITO PLS

I find it almost funny that a game as big as League of Legends would have such horrible support. They're climbing to status comparable to Starcraft and World of Warcraft, yet they are more on a level with Neopets (with support).

There is only one proper response to this thread...

RIOT Question to the OP: Is your tourney region qualified for Worlds?

No?

Well you don't matter then. Go item 3070 item 3070 me a river you NOOB.

Indeed it is so...
