Happened with Counter Logic Gaming against ROX Tigers, then it happened last night with Flash Wolves against the Godly SK Telecom. Just a coincidence or nah?

It's very possible. He was highly regarded in pre-tourney scrims and was very strong in both of those games.

Basically.

Nobody expects the Aurelion. Especially when he shows up over a wall with a subway car in tow.

Only if you use him correctly. FW actually played with Sol pretty poorly since he wasn't roaming as much as he should've been. You can give Sol to FW and counter-pick with TF and you'll probably beat the hell out of them. CLG on the other hand, it's Huhi's favorite champion and obviously his comfort pick... he's never getting it again even if you do plan to pick TF into it, he probably knows the match up well enough to stay even and since TF isn't in the meta, he'll probably become fairly useless late game (but that depends on the player and how the game's going).

Can clear fast with the enemy laner having to play safe or get hit by his constant "balls" so the minion wave will stack if they hug the tower once that happens it's really rare in League of Legends that a laner will leave to help his teammates if 10-12 minions are "free" so it gave Huhi time to roam, while the Rox mid was too busy getting cs.

It's a good pick but I don't think you'll be able to first pick it against someone like faker and expect an easy win.

From what I've heard, it sounds like Aurelian Sol's not big in Korea. And his two wins of the tournament were against Korea's #1 seed ROX Tigers and #2 seed SKT T1. Maybe the Koreans aren't as prepared to deal with him as others will be. (And by next week, I'd expect preparedness or bans.)

KT Fly played a reasonable amount of AurelionSol in the LCK. I think Korea preferred Taliyah

Aurelion sol is very versatile as far as mages go, in skirmishes he zones the enemy, he can initiate with his Q, and has a rather effective disengage nuke.

He's the most broken champ in the game, so no coincidence.
