Honestly, in a year of G2 I never saw them like that. Pyke mid after all the nerfs to the solo lanes??? Ez vs Kaisa??? Leaving free Lee to Tian make me think that they really wanted those kicks in their asses.

I really hoped that after the first match they understood better the enemy and then draft properly, but really, the second match was totally trolled.

They made the same mistakes of Fnatic last year: the same mistake over and over again wihtout changing a comma.

Last year was: play around Rekkless who didn't pick the proper dps to the opponent. IG banned totally Rekkless in the draft and Fnatic seemed to forget how to play lol. This year the mistakes were even more! I'll repeat myself: I am shooked of the pick of Pyke mid. Those matches were like the inters and trollers I find in my promos.

And everybody agree about that those G2 weren't the G2. It is sooooooo hard to think that the series didn't have external agreements. I know that G2 are not at all like they were in those finals

i see you don't understand how drafting works

you didn't really watch the game you just watched kills happen and made an opinion based on them

they lost because they refused to play around wunder as he was obviously their win condition in each of their 3 games as he won lane every game despite being hard camped

Nice to see that you picked only one sentence of my post and assume that I didn't understand what I've watched and I am a KDA player. Yes, G2 could play around Wunder also. He proved to be very good at recovering after a terrible early but the rest of the team was not in the conditions to follow him, both in terms of pick and strategy.

In addition, the G2 were never grouped despite FPX that actually were

Your only other points you make of it though were drafting and execution. The OC hit the point of counter drafting flaws as well as their execution afterwards. They played to match FPX to every phase of the game.

Mid/Top Pyke always played to 6 and utilized the execute to inflate the gold. Can't do that if you can't secure executes. Sure Varus got kills but when you're playing with Pyke, that's not good. There were too many ults that got KS, flashed out of or whiffed and the pick fell flat as a result.

Ez vs Kaisa or Ez vs Vayne. That right there is a shoulda coulda story. G2 was supposed to let the bot side fend for itself and as the OC said: Wunder was the win condition that never got off the ground.

nah they were pretty capable of playing around him he was playing ryze for gods sake (easiest gank setup in the game) and yet a ryze/elise never made 1 gank on GP who was getting smashed in lane

G2 really didn't acknowledge where they were strong they just tried to minimize losses instead of playing for their strengths ie in a simpler way said > They played to not lose instead of to win

which should be the reason you are feeling like shit that G2 dropped the ball but the draft phase is definitely not the reason why you should be trashing on them as for example in Game 1 the pyke pick was the reason they were even close in gold throughout the game but they could have been way ahead in gold if they played around Wunder with the pyke pick

which is exactly why I feel 'betrayed'. Just last week vs SKT which they took 6 barons and tons of drakes G2 didn't give a fuck and just set up the game to win regardless of the stats. I, and I bet all of us, wanted to see this.

They actually try it in the first match but when the enemy took advantage it seemed that they just didn't expect that which is, for me, inconceivable given what they prove in last months

i think they were seeing wunders score and not actually realising the xp/gold difference wunder in game 1 at game end was 1.5k gold down a 5/0/12 GP while ryze was 1/7 a GP that gets free gold for existing with a perfect KDA was barely ahead at game end of an inting ryze

imagine if G2 actually played around wunder and didn't let him get analed 1v2?

yeah this series really looked like we weren't watching g2 it felt like watching TSM with G2s picks

The hell have you been watching? G2 is not a smart team they take terrible fights constantly and win through mechanical outplay and being able to ban out tiny draft pools of their opponents. Oh and by not having to play teams from China.
