Hi, i need help and fast. my father made an appointment with the legislature for my county to talk about the benefits of bringing gaming tournaments to the area. (we have the infrastructure, just need little but key parts)

i need to ask, as i haven't participated in tournaments, let alone gotten into the larger aspects of what it does for a community as a cohesive whole. are there any major pros and cons to doing something like this? if so, could anyone provide specifics and possibly sources?

  1. It promotes community by bringing friends and family together.
  2. It's accessible to everyone. Not just tall for basketball, skinny for track, or huge for football. Anyone can compete on the same level with their hands and brains.
  3. It easy to start because it requires a computer and the internet which everyone already has. You don't have to build a stadium or a field for example.
  4. You don't have to deal with injuries. You won't have anyone breaking their leg or arm that requires immediate medical attention. (if you do you're doing something VERY wrong).
  5. It's requires discipline and focus to do well and win. This helps improve brain power, attention span, attention to details, reaction times, problem solving skills, and patience.
  6. It promotes teamwork because that's what most sports are about.
  7. It requires analyzing mistakes and errors to improve upon.

These are some at the top of my head.
