Riot Games has apparently taken to threaten to fine teams playing against their all-female team, Vaevictis Gaming, who currently play at the PROFESSIONAL LEVEL inside of the LCL. The entire thing reads like a fucking onion article. The main concerns are two matches, where the kills were 52-2 against the girls and Riot threatened to fine the team who beat them for not ending the game faster, artificially lengthening the game for more kills. Then this match where the opposing team played into the joke that girls only play support, and banned 5 support champions. Is there a rule somewhere what you are and aren't allowed to ban? The All-Girls team went on to lose the match.

This is similar to Riot's last all-female team, Siren Gaming, who called it quits after only a few matches, were they lost horribly. You might remember them for their cringy as fuck promo video, which admitedly even the girls didnt want to do but where pressured by the promoter to do, and where the phrase 'Bait you and outsmart you' comes from. The average rank of the girls team is Diamond 5 to Diamond 1, where most pros sit at Grandmaster to challenger, a huge margin.

Listen Riot, nobody here is opposed to girls in esports. We're opposed to gender-segregated teams and shitty players/teams. Just recruit some girls who are ACTUALLY at the grandmaster/Challenger level instead of taking offense (or threatening suits against teams) when some diamonds get shit on by players that are essentially robots designed solely to play league...

Wonder when Riot will actually learn from mistakes? They should really hire someone to paint themselves a picture at this point - Honestly, why is it so hard for them to grasp basic concepts?

Why make a team that's not on the same skill level (Diamond vs Challenger) and then threaten teams if they win too hard? Secondly, what rule existed that Riot can decide what's bannable and what is not?

Honestly seems like you want to scare teams into throwing matches for publicity. League is not even a sport yet and you're already trying to rig matches for views? If you have to make up rules solely to help one team somethings wrong.

The team's nothing more than a social justice bait and token group. They're unskilled, incompetent, and unprepared to face actual adversaries in eSports.

The smart thing would be to disqualify them, but we all know modern Riot would rather signal for forced equity than play by their own set rules and standards.

They exhibited unsportsmanlike conduct in both examples, and at the professional level should receive fines for doing so. Whether the team they were facing was all-female or all bronze, it doesn't matter; the key issue is that they acted without respect for the other players based on either rank, skill, or gender, and that's wrong.

Running up the score I'd say is poor sportsmanship without a doubt. They are at a professional level, so whether or not wasting all 5 of your bans on support champs as a joke is poor sportsmanship is a matter of opinion.

Either way, there was a distinct lack of respect for the opponent, and if this happened to anyone other than the all female team, no one on either side of this "debate" would even be upset.

They'd get fined, the losers would get mocked for being THAT bad, and everyone would move on.

But because this is an all-girls team, there is a larger amount of toxicity surrounding the situation for multiple reasons.

A.) Because it is CLEARLY a thinly-veiled attempt from Riot to appear like they are not misogynists. (It's not a good attempt, either. It's ham-fisted and clumsy.)

B.) Because some people SEE that it is a poor attempt at being pro-women, and are mad that they pretend to care.

C.) Because some people buy into Riot's poor attempt and think that anyone who sees it as anything other than a pro-women move are sexist.

D.) Because some people are actually, legitimately sexist and don't see the poor attempt, and instead are just mad that women are given any kind of positive attention.

And plenty of other reasons I can't even think of.

It's a toxic situation, and it's not at all helped by Riot attempting to shoehorn in an All-female team, instead of finding genuinely good players BEFORE looking at gender or appearance and putting together a team like that.

Obviously the idea of an All-Female team isn't a problem, the problem is that the people in charge have some misguided idea that it makes them look good to everyone when all it really does is make them look callous and uninformed.

Look it's kinda disrespectful BUT; Don't thay have every right to end the fucking game whenever they fucking see fit?

They knew how bad the enemy team was and kept on playing, everyone does that. Now this was a Professional game but they were challenger and the enemies were diamonds...XD obviously it was like playing a normal game...

This happens on a regular with ranked games and especially normal games, you've destroyed a team with a gold difference let's say 30k gold and you keep on playing BECAUSE IT'S FUN KILLING YOUR OPPONENTS AND BEING LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF THEM.

AND SINCE THE GIRLS DIDN'T SURRENDER THATS ON THEM.

Threats for being good at the game ladies and gentlemen, what else? God I fucking hate the era we live in man,I hate it so fucking much, everyone became a snowflake/sjw/idontfuckingknow

Maybe consider actual challenger "women since you want an all female team" and maybe they'll win against an all challenger team, but let me guess, the guys will try a little bit harder since the enemy is also challenger and not some random diamond 4 hardstuck and you'll call it disrespectful again.

Sad,pathetic,I'm ashamed of being part of this game sometimes.

Did you read the article? It doesn't mention fines anywhere, literally just warnings for obviously unsportsmanlike conduct. I see people claiming the teams got banned too and this kind of dishonesty is really stupid.

You can't win against them because it's disrespecting waman...

So when are they getting all the cis white male accounts permanently banned because of their privileges?

So, when I initially saw the 52-2 "drawn out" game, my assumption was that it was a 45-50 minute game or something that should have ended at 25-30 minutes. The game was only 31 minutes. Now, with a score that one sided, they may have drug it out a bit, but I think it's hard to make the case that they drug a game out too long when the game time is pretty close to the world average.
