Pickem 2017 knockouts

I just want a little bit of input before I lock in my knockout picks for this season. Anybody who might help out is welcome to please share their pov. So here's my situation. I am supremely disappointed that C9 lost so badly to SKT in their final groups match, and actually mad that SKT managed to pull a win out of nowhere when Edward Games was doing so well at first. Other than that, I just need 8 more points for the second poro Icon (and more so, the mission completion towards 6 missions). That being said, I'm just hoping SKT gets humbled this year (and that Cloud 9 gets the world cup) So without further ado, I'll outline my picks:

For quarterfinals, I have: Misfits whooping SKT RNG defeating Fnatic (Their current win-loss ratio suggests they're more likely to beat SKT than Fnatic, incase SKT do make it past quarterfinals) Longzhu beating Samsung (Just because I feel they're more likely to win than Samsung, given their Win-loss ratio) And Cloud 9 beating Team WE, because I'm rooting for Cloud 9

Of the listed teams, I'm rooting first for Cloud9, next for Misfits, and the rest I don't really care about as long as SKT doesn't win.

For Semifinals, I've got: Misfits beating RNG and Cloud9 beating Longzhu (all for the reasons stated above)

And following that same logic, I've got Cloud9 beating Misfits. Although at that point, they're both teams I support for different reasons. I'd just like Cloud9 to win because they represent NA.

do you guys think this lineup gives me a chance at getting the 8 points I need for another Poro? I need either 2 correct quarterfinals picks or 1 correct Semifinals pick to get it.

Do you really think MSF can "whoop" SKT and RNG? I'm not saying they cant win a BO5 but if they do it definitely won't be easy, and it definitely won't be likely.

My quarters: Longzhu def. SSG: I think everybody's is thinking Longzhu's gonna win. It's possible for SSG, but Longzhu really does look like the stronger team at this point. SKT def. Misfits: Misfits had a good run, but they can't stop the champions. RNG def. FNC: Fnatic looked far too shaky in Group Stage and had to rely on NA's Week 2 Curse to get them out. Also, RNG dominated their group. C9 def. WE: Pretty much the only one where my pick being wrong wouldn't be an upset. It's veeeerrrry close for these two teams, and I gotta root for my home team. My semis: SKT def. RNG: This one could honestly go either way, but it's still favored enough for SKT that I put them down. Longzhu def. C9: I'm honestly hoping I get this one wrong, but either way that SSG or Longzhu win C9 still has to deal with Koreans, who 3-0'd them last year. At least C9 will be the only NA team to ever get to Semis? Finals: Longzhu def. SKT: I want Longzhu skins, and Longzhu's already beaten SKT once. I believe in them.

i'd actually bet for Longzhu this year, but i firmly believe they will be facing SKT in the finals

MSF won't win. C9 won't win. You are giving up MANY points if you put them through just out of fandom. You lose the first time around because they are out, but you also lose the next rounds because they are already out but you keep putting them through.

Also, I don't know how many points are available. If you want the icon, be smart RNG, SKT, LZ, WE. If you want to support a team, RNG, MSF, LZ, C9 - RNG, LZ - LZ

NA EU wont make it past any of the big teams.

You may get two of the quarters right in LZ and RNG (possibly even C9). Past that, I don't see those predictions holding up. Maybe in a parallel universe C9 beats LZ and MSF beats SKT in a BO5 this year, but not in ours. If it really turns out to be C9 vs MSF in the final, then grats you're the new Nostradamus!

You only need 8 points, so theorectically you only need 1-2 correct picks. I don't think you should put MSF over SKT. They did exceed most people's expectations, but they most likely won't beat SKT. RNG vs FNC is most likely correct. FNC have a little potential to upset them, but I think RNG having the home crowd momentum will give them a boost in strength and they had a much better showing in groups. LZ most likely will beat SSG, especially considering they already dropped two games to RNG, and almost lost to 1907 when they had to use a new jungler last minute. WE most likely will beat C9, but I actually put C9 winning too, just for some NA support. C9 also probably has the highest upset potential next to FNC, considering WE split games with TSM. I'm pretty sure you got 8 points, but I think you'll get a lot more if you slot the korean teams into the finals.

Edit: Also forgot I have LZ winning the finals over SKT.

P.S. There's also a chance that you're the greatest prophet of all time, and I'm completely and utterly wrong.
