You're right in that EU's been shit this split, but I'll cross-reference to a question about my G2 placement made on Reddit:

My analysis of the EU situation was that G2 had the capability to 3-0 the finals, but the incentives weren't there. The monetary value in winning a split isn't comparable to Worlds attendance, and it was their own damn fault that they lost the 1st seed incentive in the first place. So what does a clean 3-0 garner them in that context? The effort required to do so would've necessitated that G2 show a number of cards against Splyce and UOL that they'd otherwise want to keep out of the international light. Things that they're developing, players they're working on, etc. Because of their MSI results, there is no functional difference between 1st or 2nd in EU LCS summer, at least for them, except a matter of pride. The issue is: I saw a team with Trick, Zven, and Mithy play below their performance average over the split and still take the title 3-1. They bought time to study everybody else while being inscrutable in turn. If I were their team analyst, I don't think I would've missed that weird incentives context, basically. In my HIGHLY (un)-professional estimation, G2 did exactly and only what they needed to do to maximize their chances in October.

Although i agree that putting G2 in the A tier list is kinda strange. Writting EU off as a bad region has been done before and this was done too soon. Worlds 2013 they were considerd the worst region because the top 5 teams all took games from oneother. Fnantic and Gambit made it out of groups and Fnatic even made it to semi's. The 2 NA teams in group didn't make it out of the groups, and the seeded C9 lost their first match against Fnatic

I remember last year NA claiming that Fnatic was overhyped and they were deffo not a top 4 team.

Now let's see why EU is considered to be the worst region.

1. The number 1 seed G2 only had a record of 10 wins and 8 ties in the regular season
2. The number 1 seed G2 got smashed at MSI
3. The games played in EU have a lot more errors made bij the players.

If we break this down:

1. The number 1 seed G2 only had a record of 10 wins and 8 ties in the regular season Although these scores are no where near the scores of Immortals or TSM, we have to take into consideration that possibilty of having ties makes it hard to compare the overal standings between EU and NA. Theoraticly this could have been a 18-0 streak from G2 if the games were best of 3. Or it could have been a 10 win 8 loss if it were best of 3. What should be noted that in almost all G2 ties, they have seen unmotivated in the first game, and thus always losing the first game and smashing there opponent game 2. Reason to believe if EU had best of 3 games instead of best of 2 G2 would be closer to a 18-0 streak than the current standings now show.

2. The number 1 seed G2 got smashed at MSI This is true. But facts which should be taken into consideration. First of all, there is an entirely new patch and new meta atm than there was at MSI. With Zven and Mithy being one of the 2/3 best bottom lane duo's of the entire west (biased here) this fits them very well. Second of all, SKT-1 and CLG were the #1 and #2 teams of MSI. Both look a lot less at the moment. Which proves the point that acoomplishments in the past don't guarantee results now. Third, only 2 players of that G2 team are still in the starting roster for G2. fourth, G2 actually admitted that they didn't care much for MSI by taking a vacation prior to this tournament.

3. The games played in EU have a lot more errors made bij the players. This opinion is caused mostly due to the difference in casting between NA and EU. Where Deficio and Krepo are always pointing out the mistakes made by the players. While the NA casters are mostly commenting on the big plays made by the players. Watching a game with a different type of caster influences your opinion on the team. Best example to give take 2 games from any EU team one casted by Krepo and the other with Quickshot. The game casted with Quickshot should get you way more hyped about that team, because his casting is similar as to the NA casting style.

Back to the power rankings. IMO it should be something like this:

S-Tier ROX Tigers

A+-tier EDG SKT-1 Flash Wolves

A-tier TSM G2 RNG

B-tier C9 Splyce AHQ Samsung

C-tier CLG H2K IMay
