Why is Jax never seen in eSports?

Tanky, lots of damage, mobile, can dive well, great split pusher and an aoe stun on a relatively low cool down.

Any ideas why he is never seen?

He was played this summer and spring. Both he and Irelia. What do you mean he's not seen?

Because now top lane is about having a ranged champion. This way they can just bully the enemy melee laners out of lane. Thats why only Gnar, Jayce, and Kennen are played top. Sometimes Poppy if they are facing Jayce.

Can be hard countered, kited and burst down in team fights. His tanky stats don't compensate enough for his downsides unfortunately.

I don't pay attention to the skins. I guess since I've been watching epsorts I haven't really seen jax. But like another poster stated, the meta has changed to ranged champions.

-Can't do much in teamfights -Can't do much in general apart from splitpushing+dueling -Very reliant on snowball -Can be weak in the early game, and can be bullied by range

Jax hasn't been common since the Top Lane Trinity of Season 3. Jax relies too much on getting an early lead and snowballing. All the other team has to do is pick the Renekton hard counter and Jax is basically dead weight.

Why not Jax jungle then? Won't get bullied out of lane by ranged. Good clear and good ganks. Q to close the gap, stun with E.

Same reason you don't see Yi or Warwick in pro play. The kit is so simple with no team synergy. Unless you're playing against bad players and get a massive lead, it's no good. Since we're talking pro scene, the teams will have good enough synergy and skill that it's a crap pick now. They'd have to change Jax's scaling back to an unbalanced state for him to really be viable.

Jax is useless in jungle. He is good at splitpushing and dueling auto attack based champs.

Darshan did use him, but ultimately it wasn't used successfully at the top pro level. Also the meta has changed even more this season than last for top lane, leaving champs like Jax even less used.

Jax is only really useful against a disorganized team of solo queuers who play Do What I Want with their champ picks. Put him against an organized team and he'll just get CCd and peeled off.
