Why is Jax never seen in eSports?

Tanky, lots of damage, mobile, can dive well, great split pusher and an aoe stun on a relatively low cool down.

Any ideas why he is never seen?

He was played this summer and spring. Both he and Irelia. What do you mean he's not seen?

Because now top lane is about having a ranged champion. This way they can just bully the enemy melee laners out of lane. Thats why only Gnar, Jayce, and Kennen are played top. Sometimes Poppy if they are facing Jayce.

Can be hard countered, kited and burst down in team fights. His tanky stats don't compensate enough for his downsides unfortunately.

-Can't do much in teamfights -Can't do much in general apart from splitpushing+dueling -Very reliant on snowball -Can be weak in the early game, and can be bullied by range

Jax hasn't been common since the Top Lane Trinity of Season 3. Jax relies too much on getting an early lead and snowballing. All the other team has to do is pick the Renekton hard counter and Jax is basically dead weight.

Jax is only really useful against a disorganized team of solo queuers who play Do What I Want with their champ picks. Put him against an organized team and he'll just get CCd and peeled off.

People do not use jax because Irelia is basically the safe version of Jax. Weaker late game, but stronger mid game and therefore a safer pick.
