Not going to watch that clip.

Type down the list for those who don't want to watch a video.

It's not a list, the gist is:

  • Shorten the "region" season to 1.5 - 2 months
  • Outside the regional season have tournaments (kinda like MSI) that are open to everyone (so NA, EU, etc can play in LCK tourneys and vice versa)
  • (theory) everyone improves by playing everyone all year

I would instead do this: Build upon the Euro "soccer" model the league currently has. LCS (for example) would remain like the EPL, teams play a season and vie for the championship and bottom teams get relegated and lower teams can get promoted into the LCS. But instead of the big "Worlds" thing they have now, change it so there is ONE season (not "Spring Split, Summer Split") and the top X teams for the season are in the "Champions League" and play games against the opposing region champions throughout the year.
example: TSM, IMT & C9 are top finishers in 2016, so in 2017 they're all in "Champions League" Each month, the CL teams play 3 matches "in region" and 1 in the Champions League, so Weeks 1, 2 & 3 they'll play LCS matches, and week 4 they'll play a match against LPL Champions League teams. End of the season, top X teams (from the Champions League) play in a playoff for "World Champion".

That way you have the local regional play for teams to aim for success with membership in the "Champions League" on the line. But you also have a Division of all the world's best playing each other throughout the year.
