Here's a few kinda random but nevertheless fun tidbits about today's NA LCS semifinal matchup.

Team SoloMid

  • TSM made at least 54.4k gold in each of the games played.
  • Dyrus, in this series, only used champs he went undefeated with in the regular LCS season. Thus game 1 was his first loss on Lulu in four games this split.
  • Dyrus was the first death of the series, dying to Apollo's Sivir as Lulu.
  • Dyrus is the first Sion player in LCS history to buy an Attack Damage item that has more than 30 AD. In this case, it was a Tiamat in game 4. This includes before and after his relaunch in October of last year, as Sion was only picked once in the LCS prior, and was built AP.
  • Dyrus's Lulu was the only non-support pick without a single kill throughout the series. He even had two games to get one.
  • Santorin picked Gragas in 3 of the series' 4 games. He had never before played Gragas professionally prior to game 2 of this series.
  • Santorin had the highest single-game KDA in the series, with a perfect 16.00 KDA with Gragas in both games 3 and 4.
  • Thus he also had the highest single-champion KDA, which was 23.50 on Gragas.
  • Santorin is the first player in the LCS playoffs this split (both EU and NA) to lose despite not suffering a death in said game. This happened when he played Nidalee in game 1.
  • Santorin had the least deaths in the series, with only 2. These both came in game 2 when he played Gragas.
  • Bjergsen, with the victory in game 2, remains undefeated on Ahri this split, with a 5-0 record.
  • Bjergsen's game 1 Urgot pick saw a negative KDA. This is only the second time this split that Bjergsen has attained a negative KDA; the first time was on Zed.
  • Bjergsen dealt the most Damage to Champions in the series, with 91.6k total damage. WildTurtle was second with 86.5k.
  • WildTurtle had yet to win on Lucian this split prior to his victory on the Purifier in game 3.
  • WildTurtle had the most kills of the series, with 26.
  • WildTurtle had the Largest Critical Strike in the series, 1246 on Jinx in game 2. That was nothing compared to Forg1ven's 2221-damage crit on Caitlyn in game 4 of the EU LCS semifinal earlier that day...
  • Lustboy had never before played Nautilus professionally prior to game 4 of this series.

Team Impulse

  • Team Impulse placed more wards in 3 of the 4 games played.
  • Impact is the only one of the ten players in the series to have previously won a World Championship.
  • Impact's Shyvana in game 1 was only the third time in the LCS this year that a champion without Flash never died. C9 Balls's Hecarim did it twice on Saturday.
  • Rush picked Nunu in 3 of the 4 games of the series. He had never before picked Nunu professionally prior to game 1 of this series.
  • Rush never picked Vi in the series despite a 3-0 record and 11.25 KDA in the regular season on the Piltover Enforcer, easily making her his best jungler in the regular season. It wasn't even banned against him, either.
  • XiaoWeiXiao was the only player in the series that picked a different champion every game (Orianna, Karthus, Twisted Fate, Lulu).
  • XiaoWeiXiao's Karthus in game 2 used Requiem six times. Not a single one of those Requiems was a killing blow.
  • Apollo dealt the Most Damage to Championns on Team Impulse, with 71.4k over the four games.
  • Adrian used only supports that he used in the series against Gravity - Alistar, Leona, and Nautilus.
  • Adrian died the most in the series, with 16 deaths.

Other

  • This was a matchup between former teammates Santorin and Apollo. (Apollo was known as WizFujiin in the brief time the two spent on Coast before Apollo's departure).
  • Out of the ten players that participated, only four are actually from NA: Dyrus, WildTurtle, Apollo, and Adrian. In addition, neither coach is from NA; both Locodoco and Fly are from KR.
  • Hecarim, Rumble, Morgana and Sejuani were banned in all four games this series.
  • All four games were won by the team on the red side.
  • The losing team never secured more than one Dragon, never destroyed more than four towers, never had more than 9 kills, and never got Baron.
  • Neither team got a Double Kill in game 1.
  • The first tower destructions in both games 1 and 2 happened at exactly the same time: 10:30. They were also both secured by the eventual winning teams' AD carries (Apollo in game 1, WildTurtle in game 2).

If y'all got any others, feel free to point 'em out!

In closing, I suggest you check out the matchup's results page on lolesports. It has the stats, the VODs, and if you go to the Player Builds and Game Analysis tab it'll have more in depth information, even including the runes, masteries, build and skill orders for everyone in the series.

This is a problem. Seriously. Isn't this supposed to be the NA LCS? Shouldn't that require players to be from...NA? That'd be like watching the Philadelphia Union playing their season against a Brazilian team.
