Monte as an analyst

Just a message to Riot. Please get an analyst other than Monte. I don't know who this guy is; he has not played on an LCS team that I have seen in the last couple of years. Listening to him makes me think he is a really smart person, and he tries REALLY hard to make sure you know he is smart. I end up skipping the analyst desk to avoid listening to him talk.

Phreak and Jatt are great. Krepo, Doublelift and Prolly have played against many of these players and can provide a player's insight. This Monte guy? I dunno who he is, all I know is he is annoying.

I stopped watching Worlds, I have dealt with people like Monte in the past. One of the entries on his wiki entry is priceless: Voted "Most Pretentious".

I agree 100%. He's a major annoyance. I've never seen anyone that resembled a weasel as closely as him and that bothers me as well as his arrogant demeanor. Painful to watch the pregame shows because of him. Phreak is the man tho.

Monte has definitely been a polarizing figure. I agree he tries really hard to make sure people know he is smart--among other things, his Twitter wall is dedicated to celebrating his accolades and self-created themes--which is why I find his personality annoying. He was originally desirable because he was the only quality macro analyst in the scene. As Jatt and Deficio have improved, and we have brought pro players to the analyst desk, I find Monte's analytical insight less unique.

But we do have Monte to credit for everyone else stepping up their game over the past year. It's also hard to find someone who can carry themselves with such stately confidence and speak so articulately with a high general knowledge of the game. Monte has become kind of the poster boy of the analyst desk with his theatrics, providing the analyst desk much-needed charm for the viewers. I don't think that will be easily replaced and would be sorely missed.

I still take Monte as theoretical expert of League of Legends. Plus he is quite irreplaceable at the analyst desk as only he brings some insight of Korean teams, playstyles and such.

His attitude does not bother me.

Ah, no I don't watch OGN. I feel sorry for them.

He casts OGN and as such needs to make it look like him and Korea are bed buddies even though I doubt the Koreans pay him so much as a second glance. He tries very hard to make it clear that he's soo damn smart by using his knowledge of the 'other'. This is all fine and fancy while he's the only one but bring any less annoying pro player from the Korean scene or knowledge of it and suddenly he's just a big mouth.
