C9 and Circuit points question

C9 currently holds 70 Circuit Points due to spring split, lets say they keep this slump, they will be relegated for the season. However, they still have enough circuit points to be in the play offs for 3rd seed...

So, what would happen? Do they forfeit their Circuit points for being relegated or will they have a chance for both being at worlds and being relegated at the same time?

They earned the position why remove them? Makes no sense

And they won't be relagated

if a team that has enough points for worlds and gets relegated to cs they will forfeit they're championship points.

i think

Points is points is points. If they have enough, they make it to worlds.

Funny you asked, because I was just pondering the exact same question.

The championship points system is REALLY confusing. From my understanding, there will be a regular playoff just like before that will determine the top 6 teams. The winner of the playoff at MSG, gets a spot for Worlds. The 2nd place point holder after the playoff, also get a spot.

Suppose CLG finishes 2nd, and TL finishes 3rd in the summer playoff, TL (50+70) > (10+90) - TL will go to worlds based on points.

Now there is ANOTHER tournament to determine the 3rd seed. The tournament takes the 5 teams with most points. This means, EVEN if C9 finish last this split, they are guaranteed a spot in this tournament (because they have 70 points already).

So really, this split/playoff really doesn't matter that much for C9. They got plenty of time to improve.

That's kinda funny actually, so they become third seed for worlds(if they win), go to worlds, then get relegated? I don't know if that's a fail or a win.

Aren't relegation matches after worlds?
