Bjergsen Abilities on a Global Scale

With TSMs IEM championship this past weekend we finally got to see them put together a good performance in an international championship. A lot of this success is due to their All-Star midlaner Bjergsen. His dominating performance throughout the competition enabled him to win the MVP award for the entire tournament to go along with his team championship. Bjergsen has always been a dominating professional since he arrived on the NA scene, but now he is also showing a domination on a global scale. This being said, where do you place Bjergsen when discussing the other top of the line mid-laners in other regions, especially China and Korea?

On any give day, he could be paced number one in the world. There are only 3 people that you can say that about and he is one of them. So top 3 guaranteed, at this very moment i would put him #1..next week could be different, as i said its a pretty close race most of time, i mean Faker is still playing.

Bjergsen is very good. I rank him up there with Froggen. I don't think I'd call him the best, but he has that next-level game sense that the very best players do (Point in case, that kill in the first WE game of the final on Ezreal after his team just lost a big trade in their own base). I dont follow China or Korea closely enough to really compare him to, say, Faker.

At the moment, especially after that tournament showing, it would be 100% reasonable to say Bjergsen is the best mid laner in the world. Keep in mind that I am talking about RIGHT NOW, not overall career, not in their prime. Faker is always up there, and at his best he is capable of things that no one else ever will be capable of, but he is inconsistent right now. Froggen at his best is capable of pretty amazing things as well, but I feel like Bjergsen has risen above even that level. It seems to me like NO ONE in the world racks up the solo kills like Bjerg does, he just applies SOOOO MUCH pressure in these games. It is hard to quantify the value that he provides to his team with that overall dominating pressure.

Faker is better imho, but not by much. I cannot wait to see them play eachother.

And dont compare froggen to Bjeg, if you have been watching EU LCS he isnt performing anywhere close to Bjerg

I wouldn't say Bjergsen is the best Mid-Laner in the world, though he is probably one of the best possibly top 5 even. I don't really think the case with these "star mid-laners" is that they are a tier above the rest. I believe the answer is actually based on the type of team. Bjergsen shines as the best Mid laner in the west because that is how TSM works. TSM needs him to be the ace of the team, that is their style of play. Because of that he will go for those risky plays that other teams like CLG will not be able to do because that just isn't how they play.

TSM's ace is Bjergsen
