Comebacks in pro play
Have teams become so good or has the game itself become so snowbally that there have been literally no comebacks in pro games for as far as I can remember ?

You're probably watching either too few or the wrong games. There have been comebacks this season often around 3-5k deficits and even some as high as 9k+ (but are normally longer games from stalling)
theres definately be comebacks at around 3-4k gold
They do happen, but teams have gotten very clinical about being able to get a small lead, get Baron, get the inner turrets, get another Baron, get inhibitor turrets, have an enormous lead, and force your way into the base to win.
Often teams mess up around that inhibitor turret stage, though.
