last world's groups. NA 9-9. EU 6-12. NA 4-0 vs EU. And the only EU team that made it out did so because their group didn't have a single NA or Korean team in it. Then they got a cushy draw for the quarters and proceeded to get dumpstered by the same team that knocked out c-9.

Going over the last two MSI and the last two worlds they are 2-20 in the head to head of EU vs KR. Not that any region has a great record vs Korea but even in the 2015 semi-finals vs Korea when EU was held so highly as the Korean contenders OG and FNC went 0-6.
Like I said though this pretty much holds true for any region facing Korea and I think the FW are the only non-korean team who have a decent record against Korean teams.
I have always thought that Korea was the top region and everyone else was at about the same level and I can't tell if people are joking when they try to find some crazy reason that one of the regions is the 2nd best or if they seriously think it matters.
III BAKURYU III 1 votesIt's pretty much the CLG way - they themselves tend to play really good against the top tier teams around the world, but when it comes to the less talented tier teams they tend to just flop. The same can be said about EU(right now possibly?). Maybe the EU teams thought they were already better so they didn't take the games as serious as one should have? I will say tho, NA tends to look good at the starts of tournaments but EU finishes strong more times than not.

III BAKURYU III 1 votesWhat's surprising is EU are trying to make their games go to the 40-hr long games but failing to look good, and NA this split has been in longer games and since 2013 NA's games have been getting longer and longer as EU's are shorter it seems.
Typically when a game goes 40+ mins or as I call it ( overtime) one would think EU has it in the bag considering between NA and EU; EU always been that farm for late game type of region but it's not like that for EU anymore, it's like they're becoming what NA was in the past and vice versa for NA being very similar to the old EU.
Day 1 here's what I can think about each team in short negative way
Cloud 9 - Objective focus is 0, coming into RR I thought C9 would be that NA team that's less focus on kills, but more so for dragons, but they didn't even have 1 dragon when Fnatic already had 5. Almost won tho !
Unicorns of Love - Gosh, UOL always looks good, until they face top tier teams it seems. Ever since UOL were like #1/#2 as far as Dragons per game, Barons, towers destroyed, least towers destroyed etc and G2 were vice versa either #1/#2 in the same objectives, but when they faced G2 destroyed UOL within 25 mins in an easy 2-0 in the regular split. Ever since that encounter with G2 a split ago I'v never thought of UOL as a top tier team, maybe a #3 team from Eu if they make it to Worlds but whenever it comes down to actually winning the "big one" UOL falls short each time. Fun to watch but knowing the ending to say a movie, it spoils it for me.
Fnatic - They get down in games but makes decent comebacks so gotta give them that. Not as clean as I thought they would be tho. I've given Rekkles the due that he deserves and all but I'v always said he's that KDA type of player, he will never die to win a teamfight, he's gotta be the one that survives and looks good. Has around 20 or so games in his career where his team loses but he has 0 deaths, now you can chalk that up to either his team sucks which looking at the teams/players that has played with him is rather crazy(Xpeke/Froggen/Soaz/Yellowstar/Huni/Reignover/Febiven or what I said about him being a KDA player is true to "SOME" degree.
Team Solomid - Prediction time( D-Lift fail flash into a wall) You could see he almost did it against UOL but Braum was getting closer so UOL back off but D-Lift has never been that great at positioning in his career, typically he's the first to die because of his over aggressiveness. TSM might be 2-0 but UOL have beaten TSM multiple times in the past, FNC looks shaky but I'm going to say FNC will beat TSM once maybe twice and G2 are getting back to their old selves again.
G2 Esports - Slow and steady, I had G2 going 1-5 but already 1-1 isn't bad either, gotta keep your eyes on Zven as he never seems to do much on these International events, at least he's already tripled his kill count from Worlds 2016 with 12 kills so far. Banning Tristana away from Zven as he's always been a great CS player and hard pusher is key against G2 for future games.
Phoenix One - Looks better than what people were saying, not bad for a 9th place team against the top 3 EU teams.

TurquoiseYoshi1 votesWell, it's more that EU often dominates LPL and LMS and WC while NA is shaky against all of them. FNC and H2K had a 5-1 overall record against EDG at the last two Worlds. FW was two of G2's 4 wins at MSI Groups, before G2 took out WE in KO stage. NA, meanwhile, is really shaky against all of them, usually getting 0-2'd or 1-1'd in double round robins. I don't think NA has had a 2-0 against a WC team since 2015 MSI, and those repeated upsets hold them back from getting to KO stages often.
Basically, EU often looks bad or neutral against NA head-to-head, despite being better against common international opponents. Why is this? I have no idea. But it does put EU in an awkward spot in an event like this.
