SKT Hype Time!

It's now official, the hype train is leaving the station, ALL ABOARD!

After MSI SKT struggled and fell into the depths of the LCK rankings and a World's Trip was looking like a pipe dream. After a decent showing at Rift Rivals they benched Mata and began to play the high speed aggressive meta. It wasn't pretty at first, but now after an 11-2 run through the Playoffs and capturing the LCK title, they simply must be a top favorite for Worlds. Faker has been looking like his glorious older self, playing high burst mids as well as the scaling Azir and the odd flex like Renekton. Teddy is a monster if he's given an inch to farm and target enemies. Clid has been all over helping win lanes and securing the buffs. Khan and Effort have had the worst lapses at times, but often play their roles well and help keep the steamroller chugging.

Watch out everyone, the dominant dynasty is coming for a fourth title!

I haven't seen this from SKT since 2015! Yes, at the moment we all have to rank SKT as the favorites to win Worlds.

Atm, they're in top 3 in my book with G2 and the now qualified FPX. I'm still seeing what Europe and China have to throw to the table before locking that.

I'm sure the top EU and China teams are major threats too. I haven't watched their highlights yet.

I haven't watched much LPL this season so IDK if any LPL teams are A+ or close to SKT level at the moment.
If I had to pick a LPL representative to do well at Worlds I would say Top Esports only because they can get kills but not die randomly by doing so but they first need to qualify.

G2 vs FNC earlier was just.....sigh both teams looked like s$it.

Scahlke looks promising if they'll make it to Worlds but you gotta ask yourself if FC are hype or are they just hot air?Upset loves to run his mouth but can't ever actually back it up. Also, he'll be playing against a ADC that he has s$it talked time after time but has always destroyed him(Rekkles).

Griffin...Griffin...Griffin...sigh Rox Tigers Jr. I've never seen a LCK team just passively give up the way Griffin did, ever! I understand it's SK TELECOM T1 but my g$d! DO SOMETHING...ANYTHING. After game 2 I almost scratched their #2 Seed(wasn't qualified as such) to be LCK's #3 Seed instead to play in the Play-In stage.

Again, they have been the best LCK team in the regular split and one could chalk it up that's it was nerves against SKT but if Griffin can't beat SKT on such stage or any LCK team in the Finals......do you have confidence in them at Worlds? I don't.

I just looked up the result of LEC and couldn't believe my eyes. I pulled up a highlight video to see if it was true. I can honestly say I have no faith that G2 will do anything at Worlds now that they have officially become the first team since SEASON 1 to lose a match opposing a Garen. All the bad plays the led up to feeding Fnatic...it's just horrible.

I thought Vitality lost to Fnatic/Garen in the regular split? But either way, that was a sloppy series. The problem is every game in all regions looks sloppy to the point where it honestly seems like I'm watching those spectate videos that were once on the league client of solo Q players. I can't take games serious anymore when the games are 20 kills to 8 at around the 18 min mark.

This new league may be exciting to some but it's boring to me.

And what is up with these game 5's that are complete garbage?

I'm still enjoying LCK because there is still (usually) some methodology. They typically aren't just piling in a few people at a time into a running brawl without a reason. It's usually to either get kills or escape them in the early game, warding and rotating to grow a lead or close the gap, then often standoffs over key neutral objectives forcing teamfights that lead to the end.

Meh. There is no reason to assume G2 and Liquid aren't the 2 favorites to win the tournament. After all, it's been nearly a year since any other region has made it to finals or won an international competition and longer than that for Korea.

When Korea proves they can play with the big boys in 2019, I'll buy in to the hype. I mean SKT performed decently in a BO5 in their region, but that region hasn't been able to compete successfully on an international level in 2 years. Lets slow down with the hype train and see if there is even any steam.

I don't consider you "good" if you win in a trash region that can't find international success. 2017 and lower? Sure. I'll buy in to that hype. But 2018 and above has seen a consistent trend of the Korean region getting utterly destroyed, obliterated, and downright humiliated by Western teams...

G2 pogchamp and I don't even think SKT is close in skill.
