Changes to Gemstone Redemption for Hextech Chests

We recently introduced the cosmetic only Masterwork chests, but you could still upgrade a gemstone into a Hextech Chest and key. Some players over on Reddit made the suggestion that we replace the Hextech chest you can purchase with a gemstone with a Masterwork chest. We agree, so starting in patch 8.10, if you use a gemstone to unlock a chest, it’ll be a Masterwork chest instead of a Hextech chest.

That sounds like a great change! Curious tho, why 8.10 and not 8.9? Seems like a fairly easy change.

Please make it optional, there are people who just hope for something that can be turned into BE. Also, converting OE to BE should be a thing.

Of course I use a gemstone for a hextech chest yesterday before I find out about this and get a nocturne shard. RIP my BE, you died for this.
