Petition to make RANT selectable from Boards Home
Let me explain: If you all open just the boards home page in a new tab right now (not under any actual boards category, i.e. this one - Discuss the Boards), and you click "Create a Discussion", you will be asked what board you want to post in. RANT is not there. First, I'm sure that this was intentional as RANT was supposed to be a board specifically for rants not civil discussion, and the goal was to promote civil discussions instead of rants. However, I've noted a good amount of people who literally dont even know that the rant board exists because when they hit the Create a Discussion button from the home menu, they don't see it. Second, as RANT is obviously usable, I want to stress that when you physically select the RANT tab on the left, and THEN hit the create a Discussion button, you are perfectly able to post in rant - each board is clearly set up to allow you to create a discussion that is a part of that tab, once you've selected it, and that's great...until you keep in mind the psychology of those who come here to rant.
The fastest way (excluding navigating through your immediate web history to a specific tab already) is to get to the boards home page, hit the create a discussion button (where there is no RANT option) and start throwing your huge PePeRee right into the text, before even selecting a board. That means they're more likely to slam it into GD, Gameplay, or PB, than into RANT.
I think it would be beneficial to allow people to navigate to RANT from the Create a Discussion menu if they click on it from the boards Home Page. It may ALSO result in less deleted posts from GD that arent civil discussions. SPEAKING OF civil discussions: I of course know that this does NOTHING to those who want to claim "Rant is a dead board so fuck that" or "This is facilitating discussion!" (not even remotely civil discussion...) But it SHOULD still mean less people missing the RANT board, and more reason to just shut down those who refuse to use it and continue breaking boards rules.
