The Gameplay boards should be more inviting for Rioters to participate in.

Right now I'm looking at the Red Tracker, and most of the responses are in the Dev Corner and Story, Art, and Sound. It's pretty easy to see why. In the Dev Corner, the submitter is always a Rioter and they set the tone of the conversation. Story, Art, and Sound is inviting because the lore team is treated respectfully and there's a generally positive attitude.

It's no secret that Gameplay is awful. Angry rants dominate the front page, the balance team is endlessly slandered, and Rioters' words are twisted. There needs to be tighter moderation, even if that means some very vocal users need to be banned. This atmosphere is just so hostile and negative that I'm not sure if Riot even reads them anymore. And that sucks because this is supposed to be our main channel for giving feedback. That can't happen if the boards are so repugnant that Rioters have to be paid to read it.

I don't know who "we" are and how much power you guys have, but I was just wanting to throw out a suggestion to add general tags that post creators can put on their post and allow people to search for it via those tags.

Such as champion names, item names, regions, Nexus Blitz, @Riot, etc.

Wasn't that what Gameplay+ was suppose to address? Curated discussions that would be more Rioter friendly? 4 months, 96 threads, and 8 Rioter replies - the newest of which is 3 months old.

In contrast we have Gameplay. In the same 4 month period (not going to bother counting the threads), 121 Rioter replies - the newest of which is 5 days ago. Even if you exclude that one, 21 days ago. Even if you exclude those two (on different threads), 1 month ago.

As much as people want to pin this on "hostile environment" the results speak for themselves - Rioters aren't interested in interacting with the prim and proper section of Gameplay+. If anything, they're less interested in interacting with it than with the rest of Gameplay.

do you really think people will do that? they're gonna stick to reporting cause they know it will eventually work and the person they don't like will get banned by the monkey system.

(btw i myself am not at all toxic but i know that a great majority of the player base is. i am only stating what i see in them)

Absolutely there are people who deserve to be banned due to extremely poor attitude.

If we as a community could make the effort to improve the demeanour of these boards we could have such an amazing board environment and even get reds back in here like it used to be . Just turn off the personal attacks , we as a player base have Fostered that hostility but we can change too !

anything short of a global nuclear apocalypse won't get an entire gaming community to suddenly make a U-Turn and change their ways. and any small attempts at it get snuffed out.

I agree, I think it starts with better moderation which will foster better discussion, I know of one forum related to games and other nerdy things that is WONDERFUL because of its moderation!

It's inviting because it's filled with sycophancy. People generally like praise and dislike criticism, so Rioters tend to avoid threads about gameplay problems, bugs, and so on.

How exactly would that help? There wouldnt be a place to discuss gameplay if that board didnt exist.

yea i 100% agree, it really saddens me that "gaming culture" can be so incredibly toxic at times and i don't know how to stop it from ruining game forums like this besides just... having much stricter moderation?
