Didn't riot say they wanted to reform players? If anything, this is trolling the person on the receiving end. This joke they did is also poor in taste. If your content gets removed, you want to know the real reason, not be spit on.

Clearly people want to read what they want to read.

It's fairly obvious that last part was a slip-up. This is kinda why sometimes devs and whatnot are afraid to talk to their customers, because they'd be held at gunpoint for every word they say. But then again, the mods don't work for Riot last time I checked, at least not in the employee kinda fashion but more of a volunteer, so slip-ups are acceptable.

None of this changes the fact that line was removed because it was a joke that carries negative associations currently, hence deleted just to stay on the safe side.

I once posted a fake quote about Einstein supposedly wanted someone to lick his butthole or something, and it was removed. Obviously it was just a joke, and offended nobody, and anyone with a brain could see it was a fake quote. But I can see why it was removed, because it was really not appropriate with all things considered. This is similar.

They seem to be doing this stuff a lot. Instead of actually reading the content, they remove it on two grounds or one ground, which that grounds of removal doesn't either make sense or has no play into the actual content. One of mine was removed for saying it is a sad life to live just to troll people. Considered harassment. Yet, calling him a troll seemed fine for the person removing the content, so what are they trying to do here?

If I say murderers are sad people, that would be removed by that logic.

Also, if you get 'caught' doing something once, they seem to focus you in the future, even if you didn't do anything wrong the first time and was proven that was the case. They seem to conveniently ignore trolling as well. I thought riot was trying to reform people, not protect the trolls.

Then again, they played favorites with Tyler1 (for a while) who said much worse than a majority of players in that time in game. What should I expect? Fairness?

Yes, that is how any moderation team works. The users that cause a disproportionate amount of issues are given special attention to nip it in the bud before it gets out of hand. Personally, I'd prefer to see a more streamlined process where we can quickly remove obvious problem users, much like how the banning system in League currently works.

We're working on a few things internally, but remember that if you have any issues with moderation, you can bring it up directly to us through the Boards Discord. I think giving everyone a chance to talk to a moderator one-on-one, regardless of reasoning, is certainly fair.

Speaking for myself -- with no actual knowledge of the specific situation -- I would call "jokes" about something as terrible as a school shooting to be in extremely poor taste, and probably also too close to real-world political and/or social issue discussion to be acceptable.

Jokes in general are absolutely fine, but the content and topic of those jokes is, ultimately, what determines if a specific joke is acceptable.

In all, there are three issues that have created a bigger issue. Just because the name is an issue doesn't mean the moderator in question didn't make a questionable accusation, which also doesn't mean the person who posted is not guilty either, just not guilty for 'insulting' because that is way too hard to determine if it is insulting or not.

Ah -- my apologies. You're referring to the specific reason given for removal rather than the removal itself. I don't really have any strong thoughts on the specific reasons given, so I can't weigh in on that. I misunderstood your grievance with the situation.

I do think the removal in general is appropriate, but I can't speak for the specific details.

However, if five separate moderators (And whatever the other people that can delete posts) say something that isn't true, that isn't a problem with us. It's become too common.

I have seen that a lot, where two people are having an argument and report each others' posts for harassment. I can't speak for every moderator here, but personally, and from what I have seen from other moderators, these reports are typically dismissed unless they violate a specific rule. However, please understand that your perspective may not be accurate simply because you cannot see which posts get reported, for what reason, or how often.

Again, I would like to extend an invitation for you to join the Boards Moderation Discord if you're not there already. Any time you have an issue with moderation, bring it to our attention in the proper channel, and we'll pull you into a private room to discuss with us.

Blacklist put (a person or product) on a blacklist. "workers were blacklisted after being quoted in the newspaper" Aka forumers are being blacklisted after having one infraction.

Honestly, I have seen the moderation team be more conservative with bans than we probably should be.

To your other post, what would talking to a third party accomplish? They will not have the ability to change anything about a ban on an account, so I find it pointless other than to simply re-affirm your already-existing bias.
