I am a bit of a realist so I apologize if I seem blunt.
We do help others when we delete posts, comment, or otherwise start threads ourselves. We want to make sure the community understands what we're doing.
We cannot improve upon the reporting system right now due to limitations in the board systems. For now, that's all we got but we act upon a thread if it's reported. For example, if a thread was reported for spam but it's actually full of racial slurs... we will handle it anyway. It just brings it to our attention.
That last point is what we do by linking the universal rules after a deletion message and sometimes in boards feedback when we comment.
