We moderate what is reported, and what we individually see during normal board usage (including when checking out a thread with reported content on it for a more complete view of the situation). We can't reasonably moderate things we don't see and, as these boards are rather large and this is a volunteer position, making moderators scan every thread for unreported content is simply not feasible.

I’m not sure you could even unreasonably moderate things you don’t see - isn’t that kinda required for you to evaluate and moderate it?

Perfection would be impossible.

That said, chat parsing could help identify offensive chat you personally have not found. Which would not require an actual person to read through all the posts.

This is not something the moderation team has the ability to add to the boards, so it is likewise not feasible at this time. It would definitely be a tool worth considering if that option ever ends up on the table though.

Simply put, the moderation team cannot make developmental decisions for Riot. At best we could suggest something, and I have a very good idea of what suggestions would be deemed out of scope (especially with something like this, which has been brought up before as a feature that would be worth considering). This sort of suggestion is definitely out of scope.

It's not really a defeatist attitude -- it's a realistic one based on information and knowledge I have of the situation. If the situation changes, my opinion of the viability of this sort of tool would likewise change.

Yes. Again, I do not have the authority to make Riot integrate any specific software into the boards. Additionally -- and I know you disagree here -- but I do not believe that this sort of software would be worth the time moderation would have to spend training it on board trends, especially as most of what is missed is borderline behavior, which is hard for a system to identify. We would effectively need a rather advanced system built, and one that is able to learn from moderation actions in real-time.

Nothing needs to be integrated. You are making shit way more complicated than it needs to be. If it wasn't for Wuks, nothing would ever get done.

That's not entirely true. We almost always check posts around reported content to make sure there isn't a larger problem, like bickering. We also look into threads that look like they might be a problem.

It would be more fair to say we don't have a "blacklist" where we follow posters around looking for things to moderate. As for the things we miss, we're volunteers with meaningful limits to the time we can spend moderating the boards. That's why we so strongly suggest people report things they find problematic - that's the surest way to bring it to our attention for review.

it was taken far out of context, i was sent here when EU/W and support said they could do nothing, so i'm guessing i am wasting my time again requesting mercy from riot whatsoever, As pride is worth more than giving a damn about the soul crushing irritation this drives me up.

Which I really don't get. If the punishment was on the EU/W boards, they're the only ones who can help. If the punishment was in-game, Riot Support is probably the best option. If the punishment was in-game and you want community input, the Player Behavior board is the best option. I don't know why they'd send you to the NA Board Moderators, as we really can't help you, much as I'd like to be able to.

I was told to make a smurf on eu/w they just banned it for requesting a unban less than 20 mins ago after u told me to ask there.
