Attention Rioters

My buddy EPiKDJ was put on a 24hr temp boards ban for spreading awareness of the NFL wiki page being hacked

"Moderators will look for and consider the following as violations of this rule: Pornographic materials of any kind Real life depictions of gore, death, horrifically violent acts, etc Content that represents sexually explicit acts Direct links to pictures or artist webpages that feature NSFW material Any content we find inappropriate will be dealt with accordingly

Due to suggesting the same link twice, a 24-hour timeout has been given to your account."

My friend had linked the page once then edited it to remove the link but suggested people should look it up. Which was his bad.

He then made a new post because the first one was taken down for suggesting to look it up. The new post was modified to NOT violate the terms (i.e. he didn't add a link nor asked for people to look it up). He also added that a statement to the rioters. To explain that it didn't violate the terms.

The rioter that took down the first post was also the same rioter that took out the second SAFE post, most likely due to the fact he/she got upset that it no longer violated the terms.

EPiKDJ sent me a message saying "I made the post to spread awareness of the situation. When I made the second post it was so it wouldnt violate the terms, which btw IT DIDN'T." He simply remade the post. The new post did NOT ask for anyone to look it up.

The rioter explained that it was "starting drama" because he made a new post that didn't violate the terms. He was simply spreading news that the page got hacked (in the safe post) so that post SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN REMOVED. In my opinion, rioters need to be professional about posts instead of taking personal offense to it especially when someone corrected the post.

I will bring this info up later with higher ups to discuss this issue about rioters abusing their power.

and to those reading the post and want to know what happened to the NFLs page;

NFLs wiki was a victim of a trolling group.

I would like to end this post calling out the "Any content we find inappropriate will be dealt with accordingly" and needs to be thought over. If a post is remade to become safe, then the post should be fine if it is SAFE.

Edit: The Rioters name will be kept away from the public to avoid issues

And if any rioter has an issue, PLEASE comment below instead of deleting the post and sending an alert. People NEED to see how rioters react so other players can LEARN. Doing things behind closed doors does NOT help anyone in anyway (this does not go for posts that are clearly inappropriate [i.e. posts that REALLY shouldn't be on])

Also it can help show people what ACTUALLY is and isn't allowed on the boards before it was deleted

The initial post specifically mentioned that the hack included nudity, which is inappropriate board content. A post that doesn't encourage looking it up but serves only to draw attention to a site known to contain nudity is likewise inappropriate.

In this case it is a specific instance where advanced knowledge (i.e. this poster knows that site contains mature content at the moment) takes a post that might otherwise be acceptable and pushes it into the realm of moderator discretion. In short, we know your friend knew it was inappropriate, so we couldn't assume good faith on the second post.

I'd also like to clarify that we're volunteer community moderators, not Rioters. It's an important distinction to make. :)
