Riot, does Runeterra still matter?

This is going out to any Rioters who actually know what the plan for LoL lore is.

Do you plan on developing Runeterra?

It's been so long since we've heard anything about this world and the effects that the league of legends has had on it that it's starting to feel like it doesn't even matter.

It would be nice to know if you have given up on having an all encompassing narrative for your champions or not, because it's been quite awhile since we've heard anything about the state of Runeterra, or many of the champions within it.
