Will Udyr ever get the VU he deserves?

lets be honest. Udyr's in game model on all of his skins (except you know, THE skin) is just terrible to look at. his animations look a bit, limited and i personally feel that SGU should've been his visual update, since ultimate skins are supposed to strongly alter a champions theme (ezreals being the one and only example). udyr's classic model feels really blegh, just messy shades, and limited animations. it seems his auto attacks are all the same despite changing stances, which makes no sense as he is changing fighting styles and all.

i imagine this would create a lot of complaints though, people who bought SGUdyr just because it looked way better then his current model would be more or less losing out if he gets a visual upgrade. the garen players who bought the steel legion skin before his VU certainly weren't happy and i bet a similar backlash would happen if udyr's classic skin was kicked up to meet modern champion standards.

despite that inevitable backlash it just sucks for the udyr players who can't afford to shill out 15 dollars for a skin that makes there champion reach the bar of what a champion should be. i don't like playing Udyr because i feel like im missing out on a big part of his presentation, it feels like the watered down sample and i gotta pay 3500 rp to experience the full package?

what do you guys think? would you be happy if Udyr gotta a VU? it doesn't have to be as awesome as SGUdyr, its just got to meet riots standards for modern champions? would you feel ripped off if you bought SGUdyr for the improved model and animations because it was the only option. would you have bought SGUdyr, if Udyr and his other skins looked better before if came out (you'd still be paying for the evolving model and i bet the spirit particles).

any thoughts? lets try to avoid the "riot won't do it because they would lose money on it" as that doesn't usually generate a good discussion and its certainly bitter tasting red bait.

Let me take something from someone's Custom Patch Notes on the League of Legends Wiki.

Whenever I use my delicious Spirit Guard Udyr skin, I can't help but think it's just a visual upgrade. Udyr currently has an extremely small animation/particle pool, a tiny voice over with no stance-specific quotes, and his stance-changing features ugly icons that float about his head. Spirit Guard Udyr features the exact same personality as classic Udyr, but improves on everything just like a visual upgrade would - particularly in that his spirits now feature in his animations.

  • Classic Udyr, Black Belt Udyr and Primal Udyr are updated to use the new model, animations and sounds.
  • Classic Udyr and Black Belt Udyr would only feature minor outfit changes compared to Spirit Guard Udyr.
  • Players who purchased Spirit Guard Udyr are refunded the RP spent.
  • Spirit Guard Udyr is repriced at 1350 RP (outfit difference and rank-5 evolutions are what you're paying for).
