Armchair Designer: Alistar Rework

Theme: Alistar is a rampaging beast that tosses his opponents around like broken toys. He punches things... HARD.
Inspirations: Burrito Bison Revenge, Blanka, bighorn rams
Design Intent: Alistar should be a viable jungle, top and support. He is a durable disruption tank with heavy engage.
- Alistar can be unlocked for free by subscribing to the Riot Games YouTube channel. He should be easy and straightforward to play.
- This also means that he will be one of the first supports that new players have access to. He has to be exciting and effective as a support.
- In team fights, Alistar will peel to soft targets.
- There are currently no manaless supports.
- Alistar punches things. It doesn't make sense that he does magic damage.
- Rage-cow NO HEAL!!! (On a more serious note, healing is misplaced on Alistar and it causes all sorts of problems for him.)
Design Considerations:
Much of the easy design space that could have gone to Alistar has been assigned to other champions
- Both Aatrox and Malphite have popup engages.(It is worth noting that Aatrox has a popup engage at level one.)
- Triggered (enraged) self-heal went to Volibear, as did the AoE slow/fear.
- Alistar feels as though he should be less disruptive than Leona, but do more damage (Punch things!).
- Squad5 implies that a lack of an escape mechanism is a bad thing, but it is a characteristic that Alistar shares with Leona, Maokai, Malphite, etc.

Health Regen.: 7.25 (+0.85)

Mana Regen: NA
Range: 125 (Melee)
Attack Damage: 55.03 (+3.62)
Attack Speed: 0.625 (+2.125%)
Armor: 18.5 (+3.5)
Magic Res.: 30 (+1.25)
Move Speed: 330
(No changes other than the removal of mana and mana regen.)
Making him manaless makes him more viable at top.
Passive: Might Makes Right
When Alistar makes a basic attack, he gains +5% of his bonus AD, stacking up to five times. This buff falls off after 5 seconds without making a basic attack. While he has max stacks, Alistar ignores unit collision.
- Everyone likes hitting HARDER.
- His fists should glow with fire as he stacks this buff.
- His jungle clear should be respectable, especially as he stacks AD.
- I have been persistently torn between +3% and +5% per stack
Q: Pulverize
Active: Alistar smashes the ground beneath him, dealing physical damage to nearby enemies and knocking them up for 1 second. Upon landing, they are stunned for 1.5 seconds.
Range: 365 Cost: NA Cooldown: 19/18/17/16/15
Physical Damage: 70/105/140/175/210 (+50% bonus AD)
- The cooldown was increased because changes to Alistar's W will likely put him on more targets.
W: Stampede!
Active: Alistar dashes in a straight line, dealing physical damage and pushing enemies aside.
Range: 850 Cost: NA Cooldown: 12/11/10/9/8
Physical Damage: 30/55/80/105/130 (+40% bonus AD)
- This works similarly to Draven's Stand Aside, except that Alistar is the projectile.
- Stampede! replaces Headbutt because too many new players were punting the wrong target and even experienced players had a hard time combining W+Q.
- It is counterintuitive to not use abilities on the person you're trying to kill.
- Stampede! more accurately reflects Alistar's theme.
- The "correct" play style - walk behind the enemy and punt him towards your friends - is counterintuitive and anti-thematic.
- Stampede! cannot slow because that would make him too sticky.
- The range of the charge should take him from about the edge of an ADC's AA range to the ADC.
- The cooldown is intended to be short enough that Alistar can use it as an escape if a fight turns sour, but not so short that Alistar becomes inescapable. This number will likely require the most testing in this rework.
- Stampede! will also make him less vulnerable to counter-jungling, as he can just run away from ambushes.
E: Triumphant Roar
Active: Alistar and allied champions within range gain increased attack speed for 5 seconds.
Range: 650 Cost: NA Cooldown: 12
Attack Speed: 20/25/30/35/40%
- There isn't room for any more CC on this frame.
- Alistar already receives bonus AD from his ult.
- Punching more things is good, especially since it charges his passive.
- Most of the cool things that could go here are on Alistar's peers.
