@Riot, Let's talk about Sejuani

So is one of my favorite champions, and once Riot announced the jungle changes I was really excited that I can play her again, but the patch hit live, and she still got the same problems as always, the new item not really helping her with her early clears, she still barely surviving. Yes, the new elder golem buffs her late game but that's not what she needed. The machete cost increase not really helping her, and her clear became actually slower since she doesn't benefit from the 10 damage.

why you refuse to buff her clearing? why she need to struggle in a PvE and not in PvP in a moba game like league. change her passive to something actually usefull, move damage from her E to her W, fix the range of her W so it actually deal damage to champions that are out of her aa range, buff her base movement speed! she's riding a boar, why pantheon yasuo and many other champs can move faster than a boar?! JUST DO SOMETHING, she needs it, she doesn't deserve such a trash early game

Hi, plat III sej main here.

Sej is fine. Her early clear is fine, and the new jungle item is a HUGE sej buff. She actually has a decent early game too. Lots of people don't know this, but you can outplay Lee Sins and win duels early game (Did you know her Q cancels the 2nd half of Lee's Q if you time it right?).

What are your runes/masteries? What do you buy level 1? Machete and 5 pots? What's your ability combo for clearing?

I've seen a lot of people complaining about Sej's early game, but I've actually seen improvements in my play since the new patch and am super happy with Riot and the changes. Happy to share some knowledge if it helps you enjoy the sej buffs too.

her early clear is not fine, the machete nerfs doesn't benefit her at all and you getting one less pot on top of it. You can't really outplay a lee sin early game since you just used your Q to deal with the jungle monsters and it's on high cd. her main damage source is neglectible early game since it scales directly from bonus HP which you don't have much at early stages of the game and the cd is hella high for such an ability.

The Jungle item helping her mostly in the late game not in the early game, because even tho now the hp scaling is better the early damage is nerfed even more.

The changes to Ancient Golem is a big buff for not just Sejuani, but any utility jungler with a slow early clear. I'm not sure where you are getting this idea that it doesn't help.

She also has something that most other, faster champions do not have: some of the best slows, a knock-back gap closer and a great ult for locking down entire teams. You can't have it all...And she's still faster than over 60 of the champions in League, including Malphite, Maokai, Thresh, Braum, Blitz, Leona, Nautilus and most ranged characters.

Sure she's not perfect, and not really popular either, but she does fine in the current meta. Not the best, but fine.

sejuani isn't clearing faster than naut and maokai, and the other champs aren't relevant since it's not their primary role. The problem now is even tho she's getting the quill coat she's still struggling at killing the jungle and being able to gank right after.

Unlike other tank junglers she need to use all her pots at her first clear since her damage is so miserable early, without the extra hp.

I think you need more practice. My clear is FASTER than those junglers, and I have no problem killing the enemy jungler. Work on your early game mechanics and it should help.

I would say her clear is faster than those junglers, but sure, she sucks through health potions faster than, say, an Elise or Lee Sin, but those champions are really good at clearing, dueling and other things. Sejuani's utility in ganks and team fights is superior.

I usually have a pot or 2 to spare after my first clear with Sej. I'd say that's an ok clear.
