Why Leona&Blitzcranck need a REWORK

Hello fellow summoners :)

Why do i think that Leona&Blitzcranck need a rework? First of this isnt a Leona&Blitzcracnk are OP thread,i know how to play against these champions, but i dont like playing with them. They are both agressive support who can get teir ADC fed if the opponent makes a mistake in their positioning, but if their ADC get attacked their isnt much they can do. They can use their R and dive into the fight and die while defending their ADC/or die instead of them. What im trying to say is they need more defensive mechanics, while they would still be able to play agressive(look at Braum&Thresh ->2 agressive supports that also can save their ADC wihtut giving a kill to the enemy team). Utility support(most of them)dont need to risk their life to save their ADC,they have nice disengaging mehcanics thta also allow them to play agressive if needed.

Second,i know most of you like Blitz&Leona the way they currently are,but they could be so much better and healthier for the game.

So pls Blitzcrank & Leona just want to better protect their ADCs,so pls lets make their wishes come true ! :Đ

PS. I will try to come up with ideas for their rework(hope that happens today)

Riot likes it when champs have strengths and weaknesses. No champion should be good at everything. Blitz and Leona are good at getting the ADC fed (if played correctly), but bad at disengage. Utility supports are good at disengage but worse at getting their ADCs fed. Picks should be situational. If you want a support that is good at disengage, pick Janna or Braum or some other support. If Leona and Blitz would receive a disengage buff, they'd have to be nerfed somewhere else. They're perfectly fine as-is.

Thanks for the replies :)

Agree with you, champions in general should have streanght and weaknesses, but should this logic be aplied on supports?

Support champs should be able the help their ADC in lane/after that the whole team,if a support cant do his job,is that support a failed desing?Wasnt there a Quinn discussion on the forums that many people raged at RIOT.RIOT wanted to keep Quinn unique aspect, then someoen said what the used on a champin who is viable in just one situation, would it be bebbter if he would lose some of this unique aspect so he could be viable in more siuations?

If that what you are saying is true. Why were Nami&Janna&Lulu(prehard nerf) allowed to be as good as engaging, disengaging and supporting their team at the same time?

I am aware that Leona&Blitzcranck in their current state with disengagging buff would be bann/pick ->>>nerfed. Thats why i thought that a rework would help. This is just a personal opinion.

But thats kinda like pointing out "this champion doesn't have a heal - a support should heal their adc" (ok, very specific example, but I feel like you will understand what im getting at)

Each champion must have things only they , or a very short list of others, can do. Likewise, each champ needs things they cant do. It retains pick strategy and possible counter-play.

Not being able to give a shield or heal,is not the same as not being able to protect your ADC.

Having a defensive mechanic is such a wide term :from Namis Q, Sorakas heal, Thresh W&E,Braum E,Jannas q,Lulus W/R

You are right,u gave a very specific example.Try with another.

Well, if that's the case, Blitz can protect his adc via his E. Knock them up for cc, and then w to get away.

The trick is, its difficult to give a specific example with so wide a topic. But basically - there are two ways to protect the adc; buff the adc in some way, or debuff the opponent in some way (using those terms loosely)

Buff the adc: heal, buff, mr/armor steroid, etc.

Debuff opponent: cc, shred, reduce stats, etc.

so, to truly have a support with no defensive mechanic would mean no cc or the ability to "support" an ally. So now, it becomes a semantical word game of your definitions vs mine :P

So basically, where we are now, is that you want aggressive supports to have either more effective, longer, or ranged options for defensive mechanics rather than need to be in melee range or similar situation to use their defense. (if I misunderstand, please let me know, sorry for the wordy post)

Uh... yes, obviously? If every support had no weakness there is no meaningful reason to pick any support over another. That's called homogenizing, and it's much worse for the game than Leo/Blitz having poor defensive utility.

If that what you are saying is true. Why were Nami&Janna&Lulu(prehard nerf) allowed to be as good as engaging, disengaging and supporting their team at the same time?

These characters do in fact, have significantly weaker engage than Blitz/Leo... Nami's ult is super slow and her Q is easier to land on targets closer to you, so it encourages using it defensively once enemy players have started to make a move on you. I can't believe you're actually bringing up Janna here... lol... she is the ultimate example of a defensive support with no engage. Lulu just has slows and is almost entirely reliant on another champion to engage for her (someone like Malphite to jump in to be Growth'd)

Sorry, but I think you're just way off base here.

But Leona and Blitz can help their team - they help their team by helping their teammates kill stuff :) Leona's Q and R can also be used for disengage, they're just better suited for engage. I think Blitz R can also be used, I don't really know, since I don't play Blitz.

One is designed for picks and one is designed for hard engages. They are useful and certain situations and not useful in others. That is what they are designed to be
