Is it possible to make Miss Fortune's Q not a DPS loss later in the game? Kickback may be too strong

It's pretty much universally accepted that her Q is only good for bullying during the laning phase. But by the time MF starts becoming a carry with her build starting up and her W starting to get some levels, her Q acts as a detriment to her DPS due to it's cast time.

Only time where it's even practical to use it by that point in the game is if you need just that one little hit to finish off an enemy champion, and that champion just so happened to place himself perfectly in front of another enemy unit within range of her Q.

Of course, I can totally see how making it not kickback as hard would be OP on MF as a lane-bully. In that case, is there a way to make her Q not a DPS loss late game, yet not change how it works in lane?

Make the animation scale with attack speed. :]

Hm.. I disagree, kindly. I feel that her Q is useable between AA delays as additional burst. I often find myself chaining it with an AA, or cancelling AA delay with it.

Maybe if as you added points into the Q, it reduced the cast/animation time?

What I'd do is have it be an on hit effect. Activate Q, and the next autoattack will have the effect. You could easily implement this buy having guidemarks hover over a creep or champion you hover your mouse over. Click to double up. I also think MF needs a boost on her E. The DPS is way too low.
