I just noticed that Fizz was the champion affected by the automatic 6300 to 4800 IP price reduction. However, I bought him at full price outside the rebate window because I have a thing for void champions and wanted the new skin. I'm not asking for any sort of refund, but I think it would have been better to take this into account. As it is, it feels as though the different parts of Riot aren't communicating with each other very well.
A Strategist3 votesEvery 5 champion releases results with a single champion from each tier dropping their respective tiers (6300 to 4800, 4800 to 3150, etc.). This factor is determined based on the champions' release date, so the oldest ones will drop first.

My point was that it was somewhat disingenuous of them to release a new skin for Fizz, which could reasonably be expected to drive sales of the champion, so soon before his price dropped. I think the Void Fizz skin was still on the featured items list as recently as a couple of days ago because I remember thinking that it was rather silly of Riot to advertise something to me that I had already purchased.
Checking my transaction history, I bought Fizz and the Void skin on 4/10, the first day it was available. I bought Braum on 5/12. I'm not saying that 1500 IP is a big deal and I'm certainly not asking for a refund. I am saying that their messaging and timing could have been handled better.

Traditionally, the window for a rebate is two weeks before the price decrease, so it was a little less than two weeks between the end of the Void Fizz sale and Braum's release. I was pretty excited about the Fizz skin and I didn't mind paying the release day premium on Braun, even though he has been banned in every single draft normal I have played since then. With such a short window between the two, I'm feeling a bit less sanguine about those convenience costs.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not in any way upset or angry. I think this is a minor detail that slipped through the cracks. I hold Riot in pretty high esteem, so I'm pointing out something that they might wish to consider for future releases.
Thales1 votesIt's a mildly unfortunate confluence of timing, but only mildly. Holding onto a finished skin for a month would be kind of weird. Besides, Void Fizz fits thematically with Vel'koz.
lxlLilybellelxl1 votes^^ with an expected champion release once every 2-3 months, it should have been obvious Fizz was dropping in price soon. Not saying that riot shouldn't have said something, because new players probably won't know this. But there is ample time, and resources to find out which Champ will drop and how often. Void fizz was teased long before it's release, i seriously doubt that had anything to do with his price drop.
