Mac OS High Sierra incompatible with League client

Hi all,

I’m having a problem with my LoL client. It gets stuck on authenticating for ages, and then as soon as I’m logged in to the client, it gives me the ‘Reconnecting’ error message and I have to close the client.

About 10% of the time, or less, after being stuck on reconnecting error message for a few minutes, the error will disappear and everything is fine/can play games as usual. But the other 90% of the time, nothing responds, play button is greyed out, store can’t be accessed, nothing works. This seems to have a mind of its own.

I have been in touch with Riot who say the devs are working on it, and are in discussions with Apple, as this is something affecting High Sierra, but it seems odd to me that no one else has reported this issue on the boards, if it truly is something affecting High Sierra in general. I’m sure I’m not the only person who plays League on High Sierra…

HRT gets stuck on Gathering Logs, whether I force repatch or reinstall. Manual reinstall didn’t work either (although the very first time I logged in after reinstalling everything was fine, and then went back to its usual tricks.

Anyone else on High Sierra having this exact problem? And, inb4 the anti-Mac brigade, I am already fully aware that gaming on a Mac sucks.

Same problem here, but don't get your hopes up. There have been problems from the start, but for more than a year it's been terrible. Almost unplayable. If it wasn't for fun games with my friends I'd quit already. I'm using bootcamp now, because I don't believe they'll fix it. A lot of promises, but no real action.

Hopefully the osx Mojave release will sort some things out.

This has been an issue for a while, a user found out that the MCS value which represents some value in WiFI settings in Mac OS is an affecting factor. By logging in using a wifi hotspot on your phone then switching back over to your home WiFi can sometime allow you to login

Then don't use a mac. Nobody else does.

Known issue that has been around literality for months and is the reason I stopped playing league of macOS. They most likely will never fix it as they don't care about the macOS users.
