A game started on my friend without him actually starting one.

This is going to sound really weird. My friend and I decided to play a game of League (talking outside of client). We boot it up, and it tells him he's got a game in progress-but no reconnect button. Tried relogging, same issue. A little bit of googling tells us about "ghost games"-the server and client are not in sync so it falsely believes you're in a game. His circle is green indicating he's not in a game, though it claims he's playing as Warwick.

Figuring we'd wait for servers to sync, I decided to see what Lolnexus would say-and it claimed he was in a game. Curious, I click spectate (client wasn't allowing this)...and he's actually "in" a game, despite not playing.

His team ends up voting for a remake at 3 minutes because he never went into this game to begin with. My first thought was maybe he got hacked-I'm not sure what, if any, indications there might be if someone else is simultaneously logged onto your account. but if he got hacked, I'd think they'd spend IP/RP which are intact, or...anything but launch a game and afk. His account doesn't have anything outstanding on it anyways.

He's ok with people looking at his match history to see the game in question-he goes by Nerava. Has anyone seen this glitch before? What exactly happened?
