Friend got S- on Renekton on ARAM and got a chest. I know you used to be able to get chests if someone in your group gets a chest, but i didnt get one. Got the usual "must own the champ to get the chest" but i own renekton AND havent unlocked a chest for him yet. I havent gotten a chest in like a month, if not more, so i know i havent hit my limit.
What champion were you playing? If a friend gets an S rank, the chest you would get counts for the champion you are playing, not the one your friend is playing, and all the other rules apply.
So if you don't own the champion you were playing, or you have already earned a chest for that champion, then you will not earn a chest if your friend gets an S.
Not sure if this is important but he didnt originally get Renekton in champ select, he traded for it.
