Malfite ult bug?

So about a week ago I was playing ap malfite support, and later into the game I ulted an ahri, and she charmed me mid ult, and I just stopped... I thought they changed it so malphite ult (which used to negate all CC) would apply the CC after his ult finishes its corse

Also not I got charmed as I was going through a wall, if that helps fix this if it is a bug

Is this a bug or an intended change that I missed in patch notes?
