Demoted even with protection

As stated. Was at Gold 5, 0 LP. I checked for the presence of ranked protection and it was there, red exclamation mark clear as day. So I joined a game with my friend. We lost.

Demoted to S1.

So here i am on the last day of the flipping season frantically trying to get my rank back up for season rewards that I had earned, until the UI lied to me.

This is a bug. Your UI improperly displayed that my rank was protected. I would have not taken that ranked game if I knew demotion was even possible. Your UI said it was not. I believe that regardless of whether I succeed to re-promoting myself, the S8 gold rewards should be mine.

There are 2 Things if ur at 0 LP.

Yellow: You can lose as many games as you like, you wont get demoted.
Red: You lost too many games. Lose some more times and say good bye to Silver, Gold, Plat, etc.

Since you said that u were on red, its pretty obvious why you got demoted.

Gotta love the try hard trolling in here. I'll await Riot's response to the bug report. This is a very misleading UI element. Crow all you like, but the fact is that bad UX is bad UX. "You are being shielded" isn't a fuzzy statement. It indicates that you need to win more before that protection becomes unneeded, but the protection is still active. Yet every time in the past, so long as that was displayed, a demotion didn't take place. This is the first time I had ever been demoted from any rank with that still visible. It's noteworthy, regardless of your attitudes towards my literacy or skill.
