Changing runes is 50/50

About half the games I play I'm stuck with the runes (and sometimes summoner spells) from last game Sometimes this includes smite when I get jungler!! (It auto swaps smite onto your summoner spells, yet it doesn't save!) Please riot, I can't play with these runes and spells!!!!!??
