Problem with random ping spikes that freeze my PC for a few seconds

Hey everyone, Since a few weeks I have a problem with random ping spikes ingame...while normally playing the game my PC will suddenly freeze for like 2 seconds with my ping being the usual 25 ms and when my PC unfreezes the ping is at like 200-300 and will drop back immidiatly to 25 (I guess the ping rises even higher when my PC is frozen and the 200-300 are just whats left of the ping spike the moment it unfreezes again). This doesn't seem to be linked to specific conditions (e.g. a lot of champions using their abilites at the same time, etc.) and can happen anytime ingame. I even had these pingspikes occur when I'm just walking out of the fountain back to my lane... Does anyone else have the same problem? Is there something I can do to make this stop? Also my PC is relatvily new, so I don't think there is a problem with that.

This is the symptoms of packet-dropping which are typically local network related. If you are running wireless, the issue is probably due to poor connection between your PC and router. In that case, aiming the antennae of your network adapter toward your router helps significantly (I have a wireless card with an extension to the antennae so I can move them from the back of my tower to the top or side).

If you are wired, there's a lot of possible reasons. Check your connection speed using your preferred site (google has one just search "speed test") if you have a lower speed than you are expecting, your best bet in this case is to update firmware on your router and/or contact customer support for your internet provider. Otherwise, if you are getting the correct speeds, and wired its most likely on riot's side so can't do too much.
