No recall cancel?

a while ago i was playing Gnar in 3v3(TT)and i saw someone recalling under their tower so i tried to cancel it with my Q (small gnar). My Q HITS and got my w (small gnar) on him and the recall continued then he backed like a second after :/ at first i thought i was seeing things (like my q hitting the champion and applying w stack) so i checked out my replay and i wasn't seeing things. In another game( 5v5 SR) i was playing hec and was ganking bot, after killing one of the enemy champion, i had 5 stacks of twich's poison or teemo poison i forgot and i tried to recall after getting to a safe spot to bm (pls dont report me for bming :P) as our support Janna puts a shield on me and the poison damaged but didn't fully break it the shield while i was recalling and didn't cancel it(i was recalling for like 1 sec and janna puts a shield on then comes the poison ). are those bugs or if you recall and you don't lose your hp you can still go on.

There is actually a small time window at the end of recall (like .25s) when you can get damage and recall is not interrupted. Riot has confirmed that to be intentional. As to the other one: yes, if you recall with a shield on you and you get damage, recall will not be interrupted provided that the damage doesn't break through the shield. That is intentional too. :)
