Tahm Kench can't spit Krugs

Was playing as support Tahm Kench and me and my Ez were clearing Krugs, but I could not spit them, no matter if I used Q-W or just W. It would lock me out of spitting for the duration and then deposit them out at my feet as if I were Regurgitating an enemy champion, but with no damage.
