Phew! Okay, well, if you see it happening again, feel free to comment on this post again, or make a new one! I passed this onto the team working on this feature, so they're poking around to see if it's anything on their end as well.

Hmm. That's interesting.

I was talking to the dudes who work on this feature, and there may be a potential issue of your ISP not connecting to x feature, or disconnecting to the feature. Buuut, if this is happening on a more solid consistency, it may not be.

Would you, by any chance, be able to grab me air client logs from the game/games you experienced this in?

You can find the logs here - C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_air_client\releases[VERSION NUMBER]\deploy\logs\

Hello again KateyKhaos,

There does not appear to be a file for that game. I only have one file from that date and it was timestamped at 18:39 while the game was at 20:54. There are also no files for the following day, but I know I played numerous times. I have not experienced the bug since.

Is this occurring during the entire champion select, or as the game is counting down to begin? Any additional info you can provide would be wicked helpful in getting a solid repro for this! ^-^

IIRC when it does happen, it's greyed at all points of champ select, but i'll update this post for confirmation after playing more games today.
