I tried gifting someone who did an amazing job of carrying a game I was in and I was stuck in the loading screen for at least 10 minutes after I tried sending a gift. Since the loading never stopped I decided to just exit out.
Then I logged back in and added the player to try and gift them and their name isn't showing up for me to be able to give them a gift.
My guess is the store was having trouble at that time and that caused the loading screen. As for adding people..
Its REALLY annoying RIOT that we no longer have a recently played list that we can look at and use to friend or invite people from.
The only way to do that now is go to your match history and friend them by right clicking on their name. But of course at that point you need to wait the specified amount of time before gifting them.
