[Game play] Shaco clone interaction with Relic Shield

So I was playing support Shaco and bought a Relic Shield. (it was one of those moments when you call a role then pick a champ, go to the bathroom and when you come back someone has claimed your role and tells you after final lock in that they're actually jungle and you have to support, it was blind pick normals so whatever). Anyway I noticed that when I ulted and my clone was in Lane my Relic Shield would proc and consume charges to give gold to my clone... Whatever not the biggest deal because no one normally builds Relic Shield on Shaco... But that got me wondering... If a clone (like Le Blanc or Shaco) is the closest to a real support with Relic Shield is the clone stealing the charges and wasting gold? That shouldn't be a thing!
