Could you possibly have pieces of the items already purchased? Using your own saved builds can help, personally it's little if any trouble to type the item

They are still in effect on the new client, you just can't make them for now. Since the old client is still accessible it is totally an option if you really care. Alternatively there is at least one 3rd party Riot semi-approved (Rioter said that it didn't break any terms so far as they could tell and thought it was a great idea) program that does it for you.

No program download. Just create the item set you want, hit "generate item set" at the top right, and save the .json (I believe) file in the folder it tells you to. You can access it in game the same way you access other ones, just hit the down arrow by the item set name in the shop.

I am still using the old client and they work fine. Also, people say they have theirs in the new client, I dont know much about that as I have the old one and it works fine :)
